I am looking at a Shield 9MM that was purchased by the original owner in Oct 13 and put away in his safe until now.
After reading about all the problems with the triggers and the chamber issues, I am thinking about holding off on this unit for one that is newly manufactured. The person is asking $425 firm which is not a bargain at all and I already have a similar gun that already fills the role of my EDC.

So can you all point me in the right direction and give me some tips!!! I guess I already know what I will do but I would like to hear some more input.

Thanks,
Jim

$425 is way too much for a "used" shield. The 9mm shields seem to be trouble free, but walk away from that price.

Thanks Soad, I was kind of thinking that but I wasn't sure. I appreciate it.

I am seeing other members getting them for $369. I paid $400 OTD for mine which was not bad several months ago, but they are more available now.

First off, the 'trigger issue' was simply an Alert, to advise owners of a problem with SOME trigger safeties, which can be easily checked, before buying, in under 10 secs (and should be checked by every owner regularly anyway). If the original Owner bought it NEW in Oct '13, that was 2 or 3 Months After the 'Trigger Safety Alert', so it wouldn't have been affected.

The chamber issues, I'm guessing is referring to the failure to return to battery when Press Checking? If so, many pistols have that 'issue' and it seems to only an issue if one press checks. It doesn't seem to be an issue in a properly holstered pistol.

So basically, the only 'Issue' ;) you should have with this Pre-Owned Shield is the Price. :)

There have been a couple of threads about chamber issues with the 9 shield. See below. The price on this one is too high though. Palmetto State Armory has these on sale regularly for $355. So unless you're in CA you should be able to buy one, ship it, pay you FFL's fee and still save some money. I'd pass.
