Have been offered a Model 19-5 for my Model 36 Ladysmith. Both are blue finished. Both in great condition. both are without box. 36 is 2 inch round butt and 19 is 2 1/2 inch round butt. Is this a good trade?

I'd do that trade in precisely one nanosecond. The 36's are more popular right now because there's a lot of demand for CCW guns, but the 19-5 is probably rarer and, IMHO, a better gun - even for CCW. So, yes, I would make the trade.

It is a trade that I would do. As noted above, the M-19 is a better all around revolver. The M-36s are more in demand now as pocket guns so I think that the value is pretty comparable.

OK...I traded for the Model 19 straight up for the model 36 Ladysmith. The lady who had the 19 wanted something smaller and lighter. She loved the J frame. The 19 has been fired 20 rounds. I love the way it feels. Fit and finish are not what the older revolvers are but it is still a work of art in my eyes. The stocks have a couple of dings but I may look for a set of nice finger groove stocks for it. I will post photos soon as I have time guys.
