Show your Model 39s!

I picked this one up earlier this year:

Nothing but perfection as far as I'm concerned.

Beautiful pistols. In my opinion, the model 39 pistols are among the most beautiful pistols ever manufactured. They are the most comfortable pistols to hold in your hand that I have ever held. Super photos, one of these days I will get around to posting pics of my single specimen.

Still the slickest, most concealable, and best pointing 9mm ever produced IMHO! The newer guns are an "improvement?"

Tell us about the stocks, Keith...

Here are my two examples.
Top one is a Model 39, shipped November of 1961.
Bottom is a 39-2, circa 1972-1973
Neither are fancy, just decent examples of a fine model American firearm.

roadking & mod567, the stocks are french walnut and checkered in the factory pattern. I made them a couple Sundays ago just for a change, It's nice to see so many 39s that have been carried. I like them all but especially the one posted by ispcapt, I wonder how many hours it protected him and the number of draws to get the frame wear.

Here's my two-tone specimen. I got it used and the frame finish has obviously been redone, don't know who did it, but they did an excellent job...

If I could figure out how to post a picture on this forum, I would share a pic or two of my Austin Behlert Custom Combat 39-2. I knew Mr. Behlert personally having grown up in NJ. I first met him in 1972 and had him do my weapon at his Custom Gun Shop in Cranford. Screw-bushing accurize, match barrel, slide/frame match, red ramp/white outline, trigger job. I added the Pachmayers and its my personal carry here in Orlando. Mr. Behlert and I remained in touch over the last few years and it was a sad day when he passed in 2005 in Pipersville, PA where he retired to. His work will never be duplicated. let me know how to post a picture

regards,
Ralph

wdrahl1, drop down to the forum office and find instructions for posting pictures right at the top. I would really enjoy seeing your Behlert custom 39. dachshund, I like the tu-tone look on your pistol it was very popular with autos once upon a time.

what were the design changes between the 39 through the 3904?

Was there a -1? I have never seen it mentioned.

Thanks for the great pics.
