Shrink-Free

Tossing cheap flannels (or not cheap ones too I guess) in the dryer is not a recipe for success. I learned as a kid to air dry things that will likely shrink, no issues so far.

Oh - while we are discussing shirts, also check out the LL Bean Chamois shirts if you live in a cold climate. They are very well made and last a long time all while keeping you warm and looking good.

Back to Flannel - I've got dozens of them and other than LL Bean I have experienced shrinking, premature pilling and wear. The LL Bean Flannels are a bit more costly but many times you can get them on sale, closeout or when they run discount coupons or promos. Their Flannel shirts have never been disappointing for me - a huge flannel fan for my entire life!

I am not associated with LL Bean in any way, shape or manner! Don't get a penny!

Follow the care label. Once, in another life, I used to put everything in the same wash. Yes it was easy just to do it that way.
Don't do that, READ THE LABEL, treat accordingly.
Clothes last much longer and look better.

RE: Good Flannel Shirts

Get Duluth, Woolrich or LL Bean.
Most are imported, even from them, but not not from China like the George Brand (Wal-Mart).
Cost more, but will last a lifetime.

I have about 12 shirts labeled "Faded Glory" I bought at Che Walmart of Indiana, about 14yrs ago for work. They look kinda like canvas and I think I paid $5ea on clearance. I'm wearing one now and I look great in it. Across the room hangs 6-7 heavy weight Carharts I probably bought 8yrs ago for probably $35ea. Both brands are labeled made in Bangladesh. Both brands look about 85% and I wash them in cold water and hang to dry. Nothing now is the way it used to be.
