Shrinkflation...

Agree, my two cents... I suspect we will be seeing more shrinkflation is the future if congress keeps spending like they've been doing since the start of this decade and devaluing our dollar.
The consumers are strapped with a heavy load of credit card debt and corporations need to hold pricing in check or loose sales. So, shrink the volume and keep the packaging the same size.
I can deal with the shrinkage strategy better than the product changes I'm seeing in old favorites, e.g., Ritz Crackers.
Nabisco apparently changed the recipe. I often find crackers crumbling in their stack packs or when you lay a little peanut butter on the cracker.

The final insult would be 45 .22's in a 50 round box or 92 primers in a sleeve.

Half Loaf of Bread - But I APPROVE of this one.

Lewis Bake Shop makes Half Loaf Sized Bread.

It is GOOD bread and costs as much as a full size store brand loaf.

We buy the Lewis bread.

It is good and lasts longer than store brand before getting green and fuzzy.

To aid comparisons - A Half Loaf of Lewis bread weighs 12 ounces.

Same for saltine crackers. The box of saltines used to have four sleeves of crackers to the top of the box. Now, they kept the same size box, but the individual sleeves are at least two incher shorter than before and the crackers come out broken, in halves, and little to no salt. Ane the price went up at least half.

There was a little feature story on Fox News today about chips - potato, tortilla, Fritos, whatever. Seems like the weight of product has dropped about 25%, but they are using the same bag size but with more air inside so it looks full. I have noticed that chip prices have increased substantially over the past two years.
