SHTF scenario - what ONE longarm would you grab?

AR-15. a little more bark than the M4, and if it's still good enough for the Marines, it's good enough for me.

I hate these one gun threads! Why is everybody so set on me having only one gun?:(

I'm already in the hills.

It's just something to think about. I get it though. If I was prepared for a shtf scenario, I'd have more than one gun but that's just a relatively small part of the plan. Some people would starve or freeze with a gun in their hands

The walking dead is a great example of a shtf scenario, though ;)

Touche' I havent had someone do that to me in a long while. :D

One question though. What do we do if we shoot them in the head and it doesnt kill the undead? I cant run very fast anymore. :D

If you can't beat them, join them ;)

I figure in order for there to be millions of zombies and 12 survivors, the vast majority of us will die like that.

So, what do we do with the guy who wants us to fall in for short arm inspection?

Start a new thread about "if you're at Wal-Mart, what gun would you want in your pants if zombies attacked?"

I've got a Ruger pc4 police carbine with the 2 magazine butt pouch hid out behind the curtain just for such an occasion.

Carry some A-1, pour it over yourself and lay down because you are done????:eek:

I'm going with my Bulgarian SLR-95 Kalashnikov.

Weight - Moderate
Ammo - More 7.62x39 than any other caliber I have.
Reliability - 100% reliable in the most difficult environments.
Maintenance - Minimal
Accuracy - Excellent up to 200 yards with iron sights.
Practicality - Immensely practical for CQB and intermediate distance target acquisition.
Intimidation factor - Yes
Size - Par with SOCOM 16 and various ARs/M4s

Like many others have said; I'm not bugging out to anywhere!

I live outside the town; I have 2,000 gal LP tank that can run the entire house through my big generator - that includes my own well pump and geothermal system.

I have a 3,000 sq ft basement with enough food to last at least a month.

However, my first choice for a long gun would have to be one of the Remington 870's (already in the basement gun safe) with a Model 92 in 38/357 as back up!

I'd have to go with my 870. I've got an assortment of slugs and buck, and if I need to shoot beyond 50 yards or so, I'd have my 629 for that.

First off, I'd have to narrow the choice down to longarms that I actually have. Either the M4 or M1 Carbine would work well for me.
