The best pheasant gun I ever owned was a Beretta 626 Onyx in 12 gauge with 26 inch barrels, and chambered for 3-inch shells. What a light, quick handling field gun, and perfect for pheasant in the deep corn. Man, I am sorry I let that one go. . . :(

I'm down to 4 and one I'm babysitting for my brother in law. I sold off any double that would not fit me, excessive drop, etc (Fox Nitro Special). and also two hammer Parkers. One was a 16ga G grade and the other a 12 ga underlever.

Here's what's left: 12 ga Parker V grade, straight stock.

12 ga Fox Sterlingworth (originally a rusted dented hulk missing buttstock entirely.

12 ga L.C. Smith Waterfowler

20 ga L.C. Smith Featherweight

Remington Model 1900

I purchased a new S&W Elite Gold 20 ga. this year. I'm very happy with it. Great grouse gun and the workmanship is top shelf.

I'm startin' to worry again.

I put off reading this thread for a while. So now I read it and made a scary discovery. Both Caje and Feral have my shotgun! Way back in 1974 I wanted a shotgun. My old 870 just wasn't getting the job done, so I went shopping and located a BSS with 26" IC/M barrels. It was outrageously expensive at the time $274.50. But I'd squirreled away the money and I bought it (with my wife's permission.)

I've recently seen a couple at the gun shows, all approaching $1500. So I'm not selling it, and I'm not buying another.

I have a small collection of coach guns. Any shotgun that looks good for under $300 is a take home. :)

I wouldn't start to worry too much unless you start getting the itch to go to law school. Then you should get VERY afraid!!!!!

Been there, done that. Then one day I walked out the front door. I realized I didn't want to do that all my life. No offense (and I've since met some good ones) but at that time I realized I'd never met a law student or professor I liked, or would like to be similar to. Its a shocking revelation when it happens. I don't consider it two wasted years, it was just an eye opener. We learn some lessons the expensive way.

I have 2 - a 1960 vintage 12ga Beretta Silver Hawk and a 1945 vintage 12ga Winchester 24. I like doubles. The best I have had prior than these was an assortment of Fox and Stevens doubles.

I am honored to own a Winchester Model 21

Looking at these hammerless shotguns got me to wondering if they would be considered striker fired guns . . . you know, like a Glock.

Not sure if this was tongue in cheek--but most "hammerless" shotguns simply have an internal hammer that looks very similar to an external hammer.
