Sideplate Assembly ??

My apologies for jumping in with a question right off the bat, but right now it's the main reason I am here. I'm trying to locate a sideplate assembly for the model 1006. A client/friend brought his in and it has a broken finger on one side and renders the pistol unusable right now. I've looked at NGP, Brownells, etc.- all the usual sources, but no one has any listed in stock. Does anyone have another source I could check for this part? It's #66 in the schematic for the pistol.

I got a sideplate for a 4006 directly from S&W. Give them a call.

I tried them too - not in stock - back, order and maybe.....maybe.....4-6 weeks......I've been down that BO road a few times.......never had any success.

Try posting a WTB ad in the classifieds. There are a number of people here who are or have been armorers of S&W pistols and one of them might have a spare they can sell you.

I think the problem is that S&W has stopped producing or having produced by a sub contractor a lot of the 3rd generation parts.

The 1006 uses the same sideplate as the 4506, in fact the 10xx/45xx frames share many of the same parts.

Thanks - we have a 4506 assembly on the way - hopefully it will fit correctly....
