Have any of you had an opportunity to shoot one of these small 9MM handguns? I am intriged by the size and the caliber and am wondering just how effective this small pistol actually is. I'd appreciate hearing from those of you who own and shoot them as well as those who shot one and decided not to purchase one. Thanks for any input.

I have one, and like it. I carried it for a couple of years. I replaced the plastic trigger and mainspring housing with metal parts. It is easy to carry, and spare magazines are flat and easy to pack also. I have no qualms about carrying cocked and locked. It is pretty soft shooting for such a small 9mm.
That being said, when I saw my first Sig 365 I was hooked. I am not a fan of polymer striker fired pistols….. but I made an exception for the 365.
I shoot them both about the same accuracy wise.

I have one, that I initially bought as a potential carry gun, but it never really made it to the top of the list for that role given other options available.
It seemed to me to be a touch too big for pocket carry, and wasn't as easy/comfortable to shoot as other pistols that were also concealable as a belt carry gun (during that time period a Shield was usually my go-to, which has since been replaced by a Glock 48 for higher capacity).
It shoots fine, it just never seemed to be the right choice to me for carry.

I don’t own one but I have shot one that belongs to my nephew and it is a good shooting little pistol. I have pocket carried a p238 for years and I like it, I sometimes think it would be a good idea to get a p938. It’s slightly larger than the p238 but probably still pocket size.

I should update, though. I sold my P938 to a friend last year because I found that the non-reversible magazine release button didn't play well with my (southpaw AIWB) carry mode: as with many models featuring such mag releases, I repeatedly found the magazine would be tripped inadvertently by bumps during the ordinary course of my day, resulting in me finding the magazine wasn't properly seated. My right-handed friend has no such issue.
Today I mostly carry the almost-identically sized (but more capacious) S&W CSX, using the right-hand-side magazine release button in my AIWB southpaw carry - and I have no such problems. I will note that the P938 (which also comes with ambi safeties as standard) outdoes the CSX in its standard tritium sights and also (I found) in accuracy.

I’ve had one for a while but don’t carry it much. Limited to critter control in the woods etc. BUT, it really is a blast to shoot and for the size, it’s very accurate.
I carried one for a couple years. Mine would partially strip the top round in the mag when racking the slide (first round chambered but the second round partially stripped) and I wasn real comfortable with that. It was a good shooter though. I replaced it with a Glock 43 with a +1 mag base.

I carried one for several years and really liked it, it was reliable and accurate. A P365 replaced it as my carry gun because it fit my hand better, the 938 was traded to a friend for a very nice S&W 34.
I have had one for 10 years and enjoy shooting it. For me, it is too heavy for a pocket pistol. The standard mag holds only 6 rounds, the extended mag holds 7. A couple years ago, I bought a S&W 9 Shield Plus. It is only slightly larger than the 938, holds 13 rounds in the mag, and is way more comfortable in my hand. Not a pocket pistol though, for me. A good IWB holster is a better option.
One other thing to consider. The P938 is a single action with only the thumb safety, no grip safety. I sometimes carried it in a Nemesis pocket holster. One time, I removed the gun from my pocket and the safety was off, somehow getting moved to the off position from the jostling and movement of the gun in my pocket. I never pocket carried that gun again.
I hear nothing but good things regarding the SIG 365 and I love my S&W Shield Plus and my P938. Any one of them would make an excellent choice for carry, just not in my pocket.

I am currently looking to trade or sell my p938. I really like it for what it is. If you want a single stack 9mm this will do just fine. Feels great is easily pocket carried I carried mine in my pants pocket a few times but I never felt comfortable cocked an locked so I carried it without one in the chamber. But I really don't carry to often. The weight of the gun means really no recoil and it feels solid. The down side is after 7 yards its harder to be accurate. I can keep all 7 on an 8" target at 15 yards but I really have to concentrate. At 7 yards all in the bulls eye without trying.
I am currently looking at possibly trading for Model 60 pro. I feel like all singe stack pocket 9mm will have the same issue for me.

I have no experience with the Sig P938 however I do have a Kimber micro9 in 9mm of course. And it's fairly similar in size, weight, action and so on. According to handgun hero.
And I'm a big fan of the 1911 platform, single action hammer guns. But I must say I just never got real comfortable with the Kimber as my EDC.
The recoil was just not good for my fairly old hands. The beavertail started digging into the web of my hand in short order. Making any long term range/shooting time no fun. Plus the 7 round limit?
I went to the already mentioned Sig P365 and have never looked back. Way more comfortable to shoot, easy follow up shots, higher capacity, and so on.

I still have and use my Sig 938 for pocket carry but I prefer the double action Kahr PM9. About the same size, capacity and quality of trigger but the double action Kahr seems less complicated to engage. Both are excellent choice for EDC piece.

The Sig P938 has been my carry gun for several years. I'm very accurate out to 15 yards with it. Haven't tried past 15, I have a hard time seeing the target past that.
