Been looking for and wanting a SIG P238 Spartan. Found a new one (October 2016 date on case).

The all stainless construction gives it a solid feel. The bronze finish really is very well done.

Looking forward to range time. Anyone else like the SIG Spartan pistols? I might get a Spartan Carry 1911.

I just bought a Ruger SP1911. The sig 1911 spartan was a consideration. It came down to what I felt comfortable spending on a 1911, having never shot one. It's very possible that, if I like the platform and so does my wife, I'll buy myself the spartan and give her the ruger.

Congrats on the new purchase, American. The Sig micros are great little pistols. Not familiar with the finish on the Spartan. Is it a coating or has the color of the stainless been changed? I acquired its big brother the 938 Scorpion a few months ago. The Scorpion has a ceracoat style coating. Appears to be durable with no wear to date. Been carrying it in the supplied kydex holster. Never was a fan of plastic holsters, but after trying it, I liked it.

Sig has really upped their game and is putting out a quality product. Excellent features on the micros that include standard night sights. They are light, thin, decent ammo capacity and lights out accurate. The 938 has quickly become my go to carry gun.

Keep us filled in on the range report.

Very nice looking SIG P238!

That's one of the guns that sometime in the future I'm going to say: "I sure wish I'd bought one of those"

I've been wanting this particular model for a while, and there was a time when there were always a few NIB up for auction. Then they disappeared, and I figured that the next NIB one I see, I'll get.

The bronze finish itself is worth getting the pistol for.

It makes a nice BUG to my Colt Defender or Ithaca 1911
