Sig P320

The 320 is the ford pinto of firearms.
So which one is the Chevy Nova? The Wilson Combat ADP? Vektor CP-1? Actually, I'd take either of those over a 320. The ADP because it is a gas delayed action, and the Vektor because it is so cool looking. See the Battlestar Galactica remake.

So with all this hype about Sig P320, there are three at my LGRange that almost immediately showed up for sale; all priced at 350. Sellers would probably take 300. All three have a minimum of 4 mags; some more, an extra frame, and various other chit. So who would jump on this?
Anyone who is suicidal!!!!

Would be great if Sig commented on this analysis/solution...
Unfortunately, they aren't likely to because they subject themselves to extra litigation from tacit admission of design flaws, and any changes made would then require them to redo the military trials. They have too much money and military contracts on the line.

I would buy them (if I didn't already have one ). I modified mine and I am not worried about it anymore. Then again, I won't carry mine. It's in my Ukraine War collection because black ones were issued to some snipers. I carry a Shield 40 because it fits me better.

I have three. I need to send my early one in, the other two are later models. I'm comfortable with them. Have striker guns from most of the manufacturers. All of them work as advertised.

On a good day 10% of the internet is true. Maybe a third has a grain of truth. After that all bets are off.

Any pistol that is believed to be so flawed that Condition 3 carry is needed (or even considered) is not suitable for serious purposes. I belong to a limited access, not searchable forum that is heavily populated with very serious hardcore LE and .mil folks, and other well qualified engineers and the like. The nicest thing I can say about the consensus regarding Sig is that they are blowing smoke up our kilts.

Sig in NH has enough other dirt in their conduct with other platforms over the years and their intentional violation of German restrictions on sale of military rifles that cross examination of their upper levels would be a lot of fun to a jerk like me.

I have a 239 I bought uses that seems fine after testing, and the only new model Sig I would consider is the P365, which has a different mechanism than the 320 and has no evidence of the problems with the 320. That's a clue.

Other striker fired pistols do not display this issue; if you are not comfortable with striker fired pistols, that's fine but not necessary. I've been carrying them for serious purposes since the late 80s and never had a problem.

And in fact the P365 is living evidence that Sig learned from the issues the P320 has and didn't want to repeat them, as evidenced by the fact it came several years after the P320 and uses an entirely different FCU design and uses a Glock-style striker safety.

This issue goes back a long time and we've had countless threads about it. Many were locked...

This is the S&W forum, not the Sig forum. Do a board search for "Sig P320" and you'll find hours of reading.
