Went out this morning and picked up a Sig Sauer P365 9mm tac pac. Came with three 12 round mags and holster for 549.99. I got the version with the manual safety.

All of my first impressions are great! Love the feel of the gun in my hand with the 12 rd. mags. Seems to point very easy for me. I can sweep the safety very easy with the base of my thumb.

At first, I wasn't crazy about the sights but the more I point the gun the more I like em. The mags click solidly into place and drop no problem.

Can't wait to shoot it and put it thru the ringer. Pics to follow..

Great carry gun, I've had mine for about a year and have put several thousand rounds through it. I carry it every day and use it in training classes.

Yup

I have a Kimber micro9 that was my carry gun. I'm getting old and have always liked guns with a hammer (what I grew up with, mostly).

I've had the Kimber pushing two years now. And every time I shot it I like it a little less. I've come to the conclusion it's the barrel height above C/line and just 1911 format that make the gun a bit hard to hold onto.

After just a couple rounds that beavertail grip starts digging in the web of my hand. It's a whippy recoil with a bunch of muzzle rise. Hard to stay on target.

I'm sure hoping the 365 is going to be much better.

Do sound great from most here. Would be my choice if I did not have the CS-9 I have enjoyed packing over the years. Gotta try one in hand soon and see what all the rage is.

I have one, the trigger is terrible. It's like dragging a stick thru mud with some gravel mixed it. My other Striker fired guns are a Springfield XDM and I would rate the trigger on that at 7 out of 10, then there is the trigger on my Ruger LC9S Pro, that I would rate at 9 out of 10, crisp break at 4.5 lbs and nearly as good as a 1911. The Trigger on the P365 is about a 2, gritty, mushy, and you can't feel the break because it's buried in mush. Basically usable for Defense but useless for precision shooting.

On the plus side it has proven to be extremely reliable. and the option of 12 round magazines is nice.

That's why I've always liked hammer guns better than striker fired - trigger pull generally way better.

But for a self defense gun I'm not so sure a great trigger is a priority?

Here's mine from a cpl years ago...it's been 100% for reliability and the accuracy is outstanding. I carry this or my Smith M-60 when headed for town. Great gun, feeds anything including my own LSWC 124 gr handloads. Hope it works out for you. Rod

I've had my P365XL for more than a year now and like it very much. It fits my large hand very well and points and shoots quite naturally for me. Easy and comfortable to carry. I was a little disappointed in the trigger, but only because it's not nearly as good as my M-17's. I have the manual safety version of both guns.

I think you will like the Sig P365. I’ve got mine with me right now. I bought my Sig P365 as soon as they came out and got all the sights updated on the guns, about 5 years ago I believe. My trigger was very smooth after shooting several hundred rounds through it. I did install the Apex flat trigger and polish the internals. I install Talon grip material on most of my composite frame guns. Best carry gun for me. Here’s a photo with the 12 rd magazine.

Finally, I found a combo of the 365 that I love. After 500 rounds or so now, the trigger has definitely smoothed out some. 10 round mag for pocket carry, 12 round mag for IWB and spare, and a 15 round mag that rides in the center consul of my truck.

If ever intended to be anything other than an up front and personal type of gun, I can’t wring anything out of them……for me these are only good for hitting a man size torso target out to 7yds center mass.

I ring 12x24 steel silhouettes at 50 yds all the time with mine. 9 outta 10 no problem. Sometimes 10 for 10. 9” steel at 20 yds is actually boring it’s so easy. I believe this is the perfect EDC. I don’t know how you could improve upon it.

I'm hoping to get out tomorrow evening and see what I can do shooting with the 365?

Scooter123,
The trigger usually does break in, however if yours is still terrible after 500 - 700 rounds, contact Sig - I'd bet they would replace the trigger.

My P365's trigger is incredibly smooth (no creep at all) and pulls at about 5.25 pounds. Would not want it lighter than that!

I bought mine back in 2020.

Went to the local shop to pick up a S&W MP 2.0 45 that I'd ordered. Was talking to the shop owner, and told him I'd been hearing a lot about the little Sigs. He pulled one out from the show case he had got in when my Smith came in that morning. As soon as I picked it up, I loved it. It seemed to fit my hand perfect. Put it down and picked it back up a few times before I left.

Walked out to my bike and thought...I might as well go back and buy it. Made it home with just the Smith.

Was eating lunch thinking about the Sig the whole time. When I got finished I called the shop and told him to box it up, I was on my way to buy it. He told me they'd boxed it up as soon as I left, knowing I'd be back.

It's been my all time favorite carry gun since. I've got around 1,000 rounds thru it with zero problems, and think the trigger is great.

Mines the standard version, and I like the 10 round mags without the pinky extension best.
