Here is a sight adjustment tool I have not seen previously. When did S&W introduce this tool and for what firearm?

I have no idea when the tools was included in the box with new revolvers but I have had one on my key ring for a long time. At least 25 years. I have a couple of new ones also. All the blue is gone from the key ring tool. very handy actually.
 
I have several of the round SATs with four blades. You almost can't find a slotted screw on any gun for which the right blade can't be found.

IMHO, they symbolize the depth to which non-gun bean counters in positions of authority could take S&W. I have one of those pieces of dreck in the box for my Model 631 because that's what came with it, not because I plan to ever use it. I'm sure they saved way less than a dollar per unit to go from a real screw driver type SAT. Boy, do I miss the days when gun people still controlled S&W!
