My (3) sigma sw9ve magazines won't let the slide stay locked back when empty. They're all brand new factory magazines with less than 32 rounds through each and have been thoroughly cleaned after each use. I used zero oil when cleaning them but wiped them down thoroughly and reassembled properly. Is this a common issue? It happened uring my range session today which is pretty frustrating. Even when it's empty and I'm manually racking the slide it just goes back forward without locking back. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated!

Someone else here had that issue can't remember who or if it got fixed. I would call s&w they should take care of you.

Will call them first thing on Monday since I am completely clueless as to what it could be. Thanks.

Good luck I tried to call wed/thurs/fri ob wed I was on hold my entire lunch break 30mins and same for thurs. And on friday I was on hold for 32 minutes and it transfered me around to a bunch of voicemails that weren't set up and finally told me my call could not be answered please try again later

Could be the slidelock instead of the magazine...If you know anyone else with the 9VE try their mags in your pistol.

I would take the slide off and put an empty mag in and see if the left front corner of the mag follower is pushing up on the slide lock as it should. You can tell a lot about how your gun functions by taking the slide off and watching how everything functions inside the frame.

not saying its not the gun, but I noticed that on occassion the weak hand thumb would be in position to cause the slide lock to release...check your grip for firmness and fingers, hands out of the way...if you rule that out, call the factory

I had that prob with 1 of my mags, both new. disassembled and cleaned especially the upper plastic piece. the crescant shaped cutout in the upper left is what engages the slide lock.

The second time out with my Sigma 9mm that happened. Sent the gun, mags back to S&W and 10 days later fixed1

No problems since. Have had my gun for less than a year.
