She makes it look a lot better than I do....

The birthday girl got a trip to the range on Tuesday....
First time she's fired a gun since being a young girl....
I'm not an instructor, but tried to teach a bit about gun
safety, how to load the magazine, comfortable stance, etc...

She fired off a few rounds...slow fire... 5 round bursts...
And did pretty good....

This was her first target with controlled fire...
Not bad at all for a first-timer....

So anyway, I seem to have a new shooting partner now...
Better stock up on the ammo....;)

FWIW....The Sigma performed flawlessly...

Excellent! Great job!

Since my daughter became my shooting partner, I can barely pry the sigma away from her. I'm saving for another one right now.

I have 40 years of shooting experience compared to her 2 or 3 years and she shoots it as good as I do (that's a good thing).;)

Great going, man. I always tell folks they'll never see me mistreat my wife because I taught her to shoot :)

Going to try this year to actually get mine more into it. All she's really done in the 15 years we've been together is fire a few rounds here and there to satisfy me she could defend herself if necessary.

Somehow I'd gotten it in my head her dad who was a cop for 30 some odd years had done deeper instruction than he had.

We were discussing it recently and she set me straight that it was pretty much just "make sure you can shoot this thing and hit the target".

So this year I want to start with the basics using my Ruger Mark II and see if I can up her interest. Hard to manage range time with a 2 and 4 year old to keep up with.

That's awesome kapuna, my wife did surprisingly well her first
time with my sigma or any pistol for that matter. I chalk it upto
the sigma for being so ergonomic with a natural poa. But this reminds me of what a wise man once told me " Steven, don't give them ur money don't give them a gun and most of all dont give them a reason" lol!

My wife enjoys shooting. But does not like polymer weapons. Says they are not balanced and top heavy. She shoots the Sigma very well, 4 inch groups at 25'.

She prefers DA/SA autos. Her weapon of choice is her CZ 75. But, she also grew up shooting 1911s, large frame revolvers and Makarovs. Interesting enough, she likes the Sigma's trigger because it reminds her of shooting a revolver..

My wife has taken to the sigma. I was the first one to take her out shooting. She thought she was "anti-gun" until we got together. Now, she pester me to go to the range...it's great! My hobby has rubbed off and become her hobby. No more griping about buying a 1000 rounds of ammo, ect. ect. ect... I see alot of jealous guys when we go to the range together and they see she's as into it as I am. There's nothing quite as humbling as the days her groups are tighter than mine. Lol! You better get ya some more ammo ordered up, you're liable to need it.

Hey Kapuna, great to see another family member introduced to shooting sports!!! She looks very comfortable with the Sigma, (just teach her to keep that left finger off the front of the trigger guard.) We all need to get the whole family involved in shooting. Spread the word, "Guns are Good!"
