Sigma Barrels

Does anyone make barrel conversions for the Sigma? I saw .22 conversions for Glocks but not for Sigma. also a conversion from 9mm to 40 or 40 - 9mm would be cool too.

I've never seen or even heard of a .22 conversion for the Sigma, though it would be nice. As for 9mm to .40 or vice versa, they are different frames and slides from what others here have said. I don't think the pieces even interchange. I've never tried it, but other here have. You can guy a .357 Sig barrel, but unless you happen to find a S&W made barrel you'll have a barrel made for Glock and modified to fit the Sigma. Some people don't think too highly of that idea.

In other words, the Sigma is a great gun but if you want a gun that has lots of add ons or is easily modified it's the wrong gun.

Conversion from 9 to 40 or back is just not easily accomplished because the breach faces for the two are different owing to the different dimensions of the cartridge heads. You could go 40 to 357 SIG or back, but not 9 to 40 or back. That is because the strange little 357 SIG cartridge is a necked down .40 S&W throwing a 9mm diameter projectile at 9mm +P+ velocity. Very odd indeed, except that cops thought it was the .357 Magnum somehow reincarnated into an auto pistol. Soo-whee!!

The magazines are not interchangeable, so with the exception of a 357 SIG barrel for a .40 S&W Sigma, there's not much point to it.

Glock uses the same frame dimensions for multiple calibers, so there's more of a market for conversion barrels.
