Sigma chamber

Hello, I've had my SW40VE for a few weeks and love it. So far 150 down the tube with no issues at all.
In reading about the Glock pistols have an chamber that doesn't fully support the cartridge, and that the Sigma is a close copy of the Glock, does the Sigma also have a chamber that doesn't fully support the cartridge?
I have searched but couldn't find anything on this subject.

I would classify it as a fully supported chamber, if you take your barrel out and slide a cartridge into it, there is a very slight space at the bottom at the top of the feed ramp, but not enough to be concerned about the cartridge blowing out IMHO.

Hi all, thanks for the welcome. I'm not at all worried about my stuff going KABOOM! Just curious about the differences in design.
Have to say, with all the bad press I have read about Sigmas I'm not surprised that it is all false. I find the pistol very easy to shoot well. I understand the stiffer trigger is that way for a reason and is one of the reasons I got it. To me it is a very safe defense pistol and was never intended to be a precision target piece.
I have been using a 44 spl 5 shot for HD for a long time but thought a DAO pistol with 10 shot capacity (I'm in Cali) would be a better choice.
I think I made the right choice.

It is a very safe design, that's one of the things I like about too.

Once the trigger is mastered, it's surprisingly accurate.

Look at your spent brass. If it shows bulge then it is what it is. But keep in mind this is the Sigma hide out on the net. And no .40 owners have complained about bulged brass. Also!! I think Glock has redone there cambers concerning the .40. The supported non supported issue is just that. A tech/feed/how we get it done issue.

Non supported is a misinfo term. .40 is built off 9mm if will platform. The non supported term basically comes from the angle of attack off the feed ramp into the camber. Thus the feed ramp angle can be under cut leading to the chamber. Leaving a small area that does not support the chambered round quiet right. Thus the bulge in fired brass.

Look at your shot brass and share with us what you find.

I can tell you my lowly Sigma 9mm has the best mass produced barrel, chamber and feed ramp I have ever seen. PERIOD! ,,,, bar none. While I have fell head over heels for my new M&P FS .45,,,, It does not have a barrel as good as my Sigma. Not close! It looks more like my old OEM CZ-52 corrosive ammo barrel.

There are no problems with the 40VE barrel, Glocks problem was that they tried to make the 9mm barrel design work with the .40S&W cartridge, S&W is not that short sighted and tends to do things right. Glock is all about making cheap guns and selling them at a premium based on the reputation that "cops use them" so, they must be great, the fact that the cops use them because they were practically free doesn't seem to matter.
