Well, like most of us you will end up with several holsters before you're "done" because there is a great deal of trial and error. I'm certain you'll get a lot of advice from better informed people then me, but IMHO you need a good gun belt regardless of which holster you use. It needs to be thick and rigid to support the weight of the gun and holster. I don't know about the Fobus, but I've used a Serpa paddle holster with decent results. However, I now use an Old Faithful IWB (for about 6 weeks) and it works great, even with a Sigma 9mm. It is the same design as a Theiss or Crossbreed, but at half the cost if you buy the kit. It took me 15 minutes to assemble and after some trial and adjustment to find the best location and cant, it feels great. I'm also considering a OWB pancake holster to supplement my IWB. Anyway, do your research, ask questions and be prepared to try several different options, models and makes of holsters. Happy holster hunting... :D

Yes the HK1 will fit the sigma..or is it the sigma will fit the HK1?? whatever. It is the same one I use for 40VE.(as in my pic/avitar).As for a belt...I always wear one, so can't tell you if it works without one.The "paddle" part goes inside the jean/pant so I personally, wouldnt advise going without a belt. Seems it would be more stable with one..as RevTracy said , you're gonna go through a bunch of holsters before you settle on one. What works for one person may not work for another. Have fun looking!!
