It was probably a sw9c or m or f or e. Regardless those were notorious for problems. Only good news is if it breaks you get a new 9ve in it's place.

this one is used so there would not be a warranty correct?
I'm not sure. Call S&W to find out. I thought that all of their guns had a lifetime warranty regardless of used or not. My 686+ was a factory rep demo and it has the full lifetime warranty.
Let us know what you find out please.

Accually I had a 9c & stricker broke, They put a NEW E slide & barrel
and made sure the internals were up too spec. ; ) After that it NEVER
gave me a bit of problems, Nearly 1,500 rnds down pipe ;-) EXCELLENT
PS And I use it for my EDC!!

They don't ask whether or not you are the original owner. I have sent a couple of used smiths in for repair and never had a problem. They stand behind their products.

When I called about my 686+, that's what they said...send it in.
Great service. I had my gun back in exactly 2 weeks.
