sigma rebate question

I finally got my two magazines yesterday. Kinda weird that they arrived in a padded brown envelope with no invoice or anything. Just the label on the outside showing where it was from.

MLK18, don't be surprised if it shows up in the system tomorrow or the next day

rmcky is psychic! Sure enough. I call and complain, wait a few days and POOF it shows up in the system as a valid submission. Now I wonder how long it will be until I get my rebate check. rmcky: please check your crystal ball for me. ;)

Sent it off in early January 2010, so right around 3 1/2 months. But at least I know they have it and it's being processed. Plus now I have a screen capture to add to my delivery confirmation notice.

MLK18, it's difficult to say, however I know I felt a sense of relief when mine finally showed up in the system, since it was obvious the customer service rep was going to be of no help at all. I mailed mine on 1/5, called on 2/28 and was told to resubmit, because it hadn't been recieved. Then, mysteriously, it showed up in the system a couple of days later showing as recieved on 1/31. Then, it just sat there, until I shot them a nasty e-mail around the first of April. Again, they were of no help at all and simply told me it would be as much as 10-12 weeks after it was recieved. Again, it amazingly arrived about a week later. Kinda left me with the impression that it would still be sitting there if I hadn't gotten nasty and contacted them.

At any rate, I believe you'll see it pretty soon. At least we were able to avoid the hassle of resubmitting, right? I think mine took just about 14 weeks to arrive. I was happy to finally see it, but I'll never participate in another S&W rebate.

Mine took about 8 days after it was posted as mailed. Seems just about everything concerning this rebate company is slow as mollasses. Not to worry, though, because you should see it very soon. Don't mistake it for junk mail, though. It comes as a tear away post card and doesn't even look like a check after it's opened. My bank didn't seem to mind, but it was pretty cheezey and blurred. I'll put it like this, I wouldn't have cashed it for a friend.

it appears as if smith and wesson is handling my rebate personally. I emailed s&w customer service with a copy of my receipt last night at 8pm. This morning at 8am eastern I got an email with a tracking number for an overnight delivery package.

yay for s&w

I heard that anyone raising a stink about mags and money were getting bumped to the back of the line.Seems this could be true,my money came in about six weeks.

You may be right, but I was not bumped to the back of the line - I fell off the line and landed on the floor behind a desk. After I called then suddenly they found me and put me back in line. So I will take the back of the line over not being in line at all.

Still listed as valid submission received but no other info.

Funny! That's what this sorry assed rebate company told me when I questioned their response. If S&W would fire this crappy company and hire a decent one, this stupid thread wouldn't even exist. Until they do, this worthless excuse for a rebate processor surely makes S&W look pretty bad. I've always maintained that incompetence bleeds down from the top. Someone at S&W should find out who's sister-in-law was hired for this processing and fire their sorry ass, along with the rest of their sorry assed family. This rebate company surely sucks, but it's starting to look like S&W sucks about as bad. I know for a fact that it's hurting them. Sure hope some of the swinging dicks at S&W are smart enough to figure it out.

You know, it's somewhat understandable that a problem with magazine production might exist for a short period of time, but I'd like someone to explain why it's so difficult to return my cash to me. This rebate program is a joke and should be halted until someone figures out how to run it properly.

I made this just for you rmcky (and because it's probably accurate).

I'm starting to wonder what is going on. According to the rebate website, they mail my rebate check on 4/12. As of today, I still don't have it.

Looks like I'll be making a call on Monday....

I bought mine in jan. when the middles of feb rolled around I called the rebate center and they told me it takes 10 weeks to get your rebate. low and behold it arrived on the day they said it would. 10 weeks later to the day I mailed the form in.

I think it is a great offer. It's a simple bonus of either valuable mags or $50. Patience is the key here. When it arrives in the mail it's a done deal. To get totally pissed over a lousy $50 that hasen't showed up yet, is stress that I don't need. Like it's a lifechanging amount of money.

mlk18, you made my day! LOL!

The blue trailer on top of the orange one is where they process the rebates for "The Chosen Ones"; they have 2 employees in that trailer.

Po folk like me get the part time employee in the orange trailer. She takes care of the sigma owners. LOL!

Site shows they mailed my rebate on April 12. Twelve days later, nothing. The usps has never taken this long to deliver a letter. I have a feeling their info isnt to accurate. I know its just a $50 dollar rebate. But to me, it shows how little S&W cares about their customers. Funny thing is they roped me in with the rebate offer, but also lost me as a loyal customer because of the rebate offer. I planned on purchasing a sigma 40 to go with my 9mm, but without factoring the rebate(wont go through this headache again), it was $400 or $350 if I wait until they are on sale again. For $100 more I got a armscor 1911 tactical 45. No rebate, no waiting for a sale. I didnt think my Sigma trigger was that bad after polishing trigger parts and firing 500 rounds. But after firing my 1911 and a half dozen other handguns(friends, cousins and uncles), I can say its not that great either. Still a nice handgun for HD which is what I bought it for. But not as fun at the range as most other handguns.
