sigma rebate question

How come there is not a lot of whining and bellyaching over on the M&P pistol and rifle and Walther PPS rebates? Same company is handling those also. Is it a more mature, understanding bunch? Or could it be the sheer volume for Sigma rebates might have been more than expected.I bought a 9VE on an impulse buy while shopping for something else,as stated before this was not the first time this had happened. The price was $319.99 good price--but with a $50.00 rebate--$269.99 a great price.I had shot my good friends 9VEAF and learned to like it .He had paid $325.00 for it a the Houston gunshow and was quite pleased when I told him about the rebate and he took the magazine deal. Both our rebates were received 6 weeks. Both weapons will be used for concealed carry permit training due to Texas rules, with revolver option. These guns are very well suited for what they are built for and not too good a candidate for too much improvement.Get the right ammo, smooth them up with original springs and learn to shoot them under all conditions and they should not let you down.I have gotten away from fancier grade firearms just because hate to worry about messing up fine wood or finish while in the field.A very much less expensive gun meeting or exceeding the performance of a much more costly gun is very satisfing.Rebates should be thought of as a bonus not the deal breaker,S&W is adding value to what ever price the seller is selling for his profit. Is their a report of someone not ever getting their rebate, please post it.Until then enjoy shooting safely .

shear ammounts of sigma rebates....but its still not that hard to dish out rebates....process...ship....simple

FINALLY!!!!!!! My rebate showed up today. The rebate site showed it was mailed on 4/12. So it took 2 weeks to go from New Jersey to Florida... My CCW was processed in Orlando, sent to Tallahassee, was reviewed and processed by a state government, and was received by me in less than 2 weeks! Go figure...

The mailman was not riding a horse, nor was he a turtle. They must have batched it and then waited at least a week before they mailed it.

Total cost for my Sigma, minus rebate, plus xfer fee from my FFL was $270.00 I just wish the rebate was quicker. But they got the contract by being the low bidder. And it shows.

First off I found the tone of your post to be very pugnacious, if that was your intent or not.

Second, rebates are an incentive offered by S&W to entice someone to purchase (in this case) a Sigma, not some kind of "I hope I get it" bonus. S&W is promising to send you 2 mags or $50 if you purchase one of their products. Seems MORE than reasonable to expect S&W to hold up their end of that bargain and deliver the incentive in a timely manner and without the buyer, who completed his or her end of the transaction already, having to call, email, threaten and complain to get it. If S&W chooses to contract this service out to another company, they are still responsible that their customer's are satisfied.

Since only a very small number of S&W owners are represented on this forum it is impossible to tell if everyone who has submitted a rebate received it. But having submitted dozens and dozens of rebates (from various companies) my consumer lifespan, I can assure you it is fairly routine for a rebate never to be honored. Especially when some outside rebate company is involved.

mlk18-been called a lot of things over the years but that might be my first pugnacious-great word! My point was that there was a lot of problems reported, sometimes over and over by the same people, with Sigma rebates and little if any problems with the M&P and Walther rebates. The same company handles these also. Was the volume of Sigma rebates around the first of the year the problem?I too have submitted rebates over the years, all have been honored. Some fast ,some slow, some I had to fight for, but they all came eventually.Very few times has a rebate been the deciding factor in a purchase and it was not why I bought this pistol. In looking back over this thread it began with a guy who had never mailed anything and could not read instructions, to a flog S&W blog.I guess I was just tired of reading the same thing over and over, nothing personal-just venting like everyone else. The trigger debate has the same effect on me.

.

Check the postmark. I received mine today also. It the rebate company put 04/12/2010 on it. The postmark says it was mailed 4/23. They may have batched it, but wait 11 days to mail them? Just glad it came.

Mine is also postmarked 4/23. As long as I got it, that's all that matters... Unless it bounces!

Thank you. I write a lot of police reports and try to maintain an ever expanding vernacular.

I would be willing to bet that Milano Promotional Services have been instructed to give priority to the M&P series of guns, especially since they are fast becoming S&W's bread and butter. I would also bet that the newness of the M&P rebate has not created a back log yet. The Sigma rebate has been going on for some time, having been reintroduced a few times. They may also have been better prepared for M&P rebate processing having already gone through the trial and error process with the Sigma rebates.

By the time I can afford a new Sigma there will be no rebates.

FYI - I dropped mine in the mail on March 25th. I've been checking the rebate site daily (yes, I can be obsessive at times) and it just popped up this morning - April 28th. The entry date shown is April 2nd. No ship date as of yet. So basically about a month to come up on the radar. I've dealt with rebate systems before where the submission won't come up on their radar (if at all) until several months later.

Question for those of you submitted your rebate and checked it on line. I sent in for the 2 mags and I just checked my status at the website and saw that it was accecpted, but under quantity it listed
(1). Have others of you that checked their on line status also had it listed as (1), but still received 2 mags. I am hoping that it means one rebate form for 2 mags. I don't want to wait all this time and have them send me only 1 mag. Thanks for any help any of you might have.

(1) Means (1) order of 2 Mags. No worries. ;)

Got my rebate today, sent it in mid February, so ~ 2 1/2 months. About average for rebates I've submitted for other stuff.

Still very happy with my purchase!

After months of waiting, I contacted S&W Customer Service last week via email and got a reply the next day from Steve Roach

I looked into it and we sent them but there was a typo in your street address so they were returned to us. I just put a no charge order in for your mags and the order number is: #######.

I got the 2 mags today.

Got my rebate this morning. Two months to the day sense I purchased my Sigma. $50 will come in handy. To me it was never about the rebate. I made the purchase for the gun. I didn't even know there was a rebate till an hour after I got it. It was just a bonus.

Later all!!!

Mailed mine (MP40c) 4/22/10 and it finally showed up online on 5/6. The listed entry date is 4/30.

Sent mine off in mid-January, nothing come mid-April, called and complained, Milano had no clue, magically shows up around April 20th, says it was entered as a valid submission on April 9th, still has not been sent or received on May 6th. The process will hit the 4 month mark in a week. I could call S&W or Milano (again) but I would rather wait it out and see what will come first; my rebate or the SD9 on my dealers shelves. Anyone want to place odds?

I checked mine online today and it was listed as a valid submission April 30 (about 2 weeks after I put it in the mail). No shipping date was listed.
