its one thing to do to the sigma that will reduce trigger weight. good for competition but not defense.

personally I kept the torsion spring in though twisted it to reduce weight.
kept both the sear springs in but trimmed extra coils from top and bottom double loops.
polishing the trigger arm with dremel and polishing pad and gunsmith polishing compound
will reduce the weight and friction really smooths the trigger out.
took sear out and polished it also the tower the sear sits in.

another mod that can be done is to install the lightened striker spring though reliability with all primers goes right out the window leaving federal primers and ammunition a must as they are the lightest primer available. personally I prefer CCI primers which are the hardest so kept the striker spring stock.

can also mod the trigger return spring to lighten the trigger but its a spring that is easy to destroy.

polishing the bottom of the slide where the trigger arm contacts will also smooth and lighten the trigger. want to polish from the striker safety plunger all the way back to the speedbump looking thing.

I did this mod on my Sigma last week. I have never done anything but clean guns so I was a little uneasy at first. I tell you what, it took me all of 10 minutes and was very easy. I went practical shooting with it Sunday and didn't have any issues at all. Made my shots much more consistent. My next step will to polish all the stuff inside to make it even smoother. No way would I try and modify the springs that are in there but cutting them when this is easy and works just as it did, just with a softer trigger pull.

nice! makes me want to try it. when you say practical shooting, did you do any rapid firing? someone commented on youtube the outer spring seems to keep the inner spring in place. i'd hate to lose that spring or any part, word is SW isn't making parts for the Sigma anymore...

Yes, rapid fire.. My fastest stage was 20 shots in 17.43 seconds. (That’s rapid for me.. :)) So there was 1 magazine change involved too. I ran about 150 rounds through it, all at rapid fire and didn't have any issues. I was thinking the same when i made the change, but after looking at the spring location it is locked into place by all the other parts inside. I really don't think there is a problem with it coming out. I will carry the extra springs with me whenever I shoot though, just in case.

I removed those springs about 8 months ago and have had no issues at all. I haven't polished mine but it really smoothed out at around 500 rounds. I'm quite happy with it.

I did this mod yesterday then took it to the range and it changed my shot! I'm more accurate and it only took 10 minutes to do.. Great post!
