Sigma's are fun

A few years ago I bought a Sigma 40VE off a guy for no other reason then I didn't have a 40 cal. Been playing with it a bit since, but every time I dig it out, I fall in love all over again.

I'm getting ready for a Steel Match Sunday. Was gonna shoot my Beretta but I have a lot more 40 cal brass then 9mm brass and I doubt I'll be able to recover my brass with a foot of snow on the ground.

So today I go out a practice a bit. That sucker is fun to play with. Not a hick-up. I don't really think the trigger is as near as bad as people say. Not a whole lot differant them my double aciton revolvers.

I haven't played with glocks much, but I don't see a lot of differance in the triggers of the one's I've shot. Also I can use cast bullets in my Sigma. Thats where the real cost savings come in.

Anyway, I like my Sigma.

Right there with ya! I just put another 100rds thru my Sigma .40 last night, big sh*t-eating grin on my face the whole time. 1300rds and counting... The gun just keeps getting better, and the groupings tighter! ;p)

I would agree! Sigma only gets better the more rounds you put through it. I have 1700 rounds through my SW9VE.

Ahhh. I knew there was somebody out there who liked their Sigmas.

I'm issued one by my employer, a 40VE, that I carry as a private contractor on a protective detail for a high profile elected official.

I shoot it a lot. I really want to shoot it well and I really, really try. I do. It just doesn't work well for me. The ergonomics are great and it fits my hand very well, but I just can't seem to shoot it as well as my other DA pistols and get past the crappy trigger. It's been gone over by my gunsmith and is mechanically sound. I can qualify with it with no problem, but for some reason it doesn't work well for me. I have no confidence that I would be able to pull off a critical head shot in an active shooter situation. Hopefully I will never have to find out.

Being an issue gun, I don't own it and "they" won't let me do a trigger job on it and carrying a personally owned primary gun is not in the corporate cards.
