Your so right, I should drive all over town, stand in line, burn my $3.50 a gallon gas, to get ammo, and then I should sell it/give it to friends or family. I am sure that is what all the people selling items on Gunbroker are doing. Maybe you have never heard this, but it is called "free enterprise". Now you may be a believer in non-profit, but my time, effort, and expense, is done for my personal purpose, or to make some extra money. If the people looking for this ammunition felt it was way over priced, would they be buying it? As you know it is supply and demand, that determines price. If someone can't get it, they may be willing to pay more for it. When I see a bargain, I buy it. When I can buy something and make a profit from it, I buy it.
You can find fault with this, but I assure you, that is what makes the world go round. I am not causing the shortages, as I have to purchase ammo at the same restricted quantities, and prices, as everyone else. I keep what I need and sell the excess. I guess your local supplier, who buys at around 30% off list price, is also screwing you, by selling it at list price, or higher. Or does he have to make a profit to stay in business?
I am not the guy that goes out and buys 20,000 rounds, to have it sit in storage, causing the shortage. I am selling the excess that I can buy. When or if these shortages ever end, and the hoarding stops, then I doubt that anyone, like me, will be able to sell ammunition at a profit. Gun prices are back to pre Sandy Hook prices, and ammunition is selling for much less than it was, just a few months ago.
