Federal Bulk ammo finally showing up at Wal-Mart. 9MM and .22lr packs. They also had the federal 5.56 420 round ammo box for $175. Anyone else seeing ammo back at wally world? This store is in NC. The 9mm and .22lr is up $2.50 per box.

I saw the same thing at my Walmart minus the .22. Instead it was .223, and the Federal was instead BrassMaxx. Wanna trade wallyw worlds?

I have the Walmart iPhone app, that allows you to list the items you want to check availability. It checks the 10 closest stores to my home. I have all my ammo listed in the app, and it is usually accurate and either shows "out of stock", or "limited availability", which means you better hurry on down and hope it is still in stock. I've been able to purchase a lot of ammo, at Walmart prices, with that app. So much that I have been able to sell some excess ammo on Gunbroker, at a big profit. Ammo prices, like gun prices, have nosedived on Gunbroker. You can now find some deals that are close to what you have to pay at Walmart, except for shipping charges, but at least you don't have to pay sales tax. I have found in the last few weeks, the app shows all stores as "out of stock", which I know is not true, as I have found some in stock ammo. It would seem that Walmart is no longer listing the true ammo availability, on that app, and just showing all ammunition as out of stock. Now I just have to get there early and hope they got a delivery of ammunition.

Way to stick it to your fellow shooters. I bought ammo and sold it to friends and people for the price I paid. I made this post for people who are looking for ammo. And showing that it is coming back into stock. It's because people like you hoarding and jacking up the price ,the madness has become this way.

Your so right, I should drive all over town, stand in line, burn my $3.50 a gallon gas, to get ammo, and then I should sell it/give it to friends or family. I am sure that is what all the people selling items on Gunbroker are doing. Maybe you have never heard this, but it is called "free enterprise". Now you may be a believer in non-profit, but my time, effort, and expense, is done for my personal purpose, or to make some extra money. If the people looking for this ammunition felt it was way over priced, would they be buying it? As you know it is supply and demand, that determines price. If someone can't get it, they may be willing to pay more for it. When I see a bargain, I buy it. When I can buy something and make a profit from it, I buy it.

You can find fault with this, but I assure you, that is what makes the world go round. I am not causing the shortages, as I have to purchase ammo at the same restricted quantities, and prices, as everyone else. I keep what I need and sell the excess. I guess your local supplier, who buys at around 30% off list price, is also screwing you, by selling it at list price, or higher. Or does he have to make a profit to stay in business?

I am not the guy that goes out and buys 20,000 rounds, to have it sit in storage, causing the shortage. I am selling the excess that I can buy. When or if these shortages ever end, and the hoarding stops, then I doubt that anyone, like me, will be able to sell ammunition at a profit. Gun prices are back to pre Sandy Hook prices, and ammunition is selling for much less than it was, just a few months ago.

Looks like I hit a nerve on my post. But you state that your not the guy who buys lotsa rounds, but you drive all over town burning your gas buying up ammo. . Like I stated before I made this post for the people who have had trouble finding ammo, and that walmart is slowing getting back it's inventory. And you chime in stating that you sell your ammo for a huge profit.

My local WM has been having ammo trickle in more and more.
Lately there has been ammo more often than not.
They've had an almost steady supply of 9MM and 40S&W with some .45 Auto sprinkled in.
The .22LR goes fast, but they are getting it in.

Guys at work are saying that the local Gander has loads of ammo lately. Also, a newly-opened gun shop near one guy's house has so much ammo that they are considering a big discount if you buy in bulk. Apparently, they kept putting in orders, and now ALL of those orders are beginning to ship, leaving them overstocked.

It is definitely getting better around here.

robkarrob, why don't you take some of those great ammo profits that you have made and contribute to the S&W Forum? It is the best deal that you have ever found and you continue to use it for free!

medxam

How can I contribute to the S&W forum? I would like to donate some ammo too, since I am able to get ammo and some members are having trouble finding some.

????

What's with the attack on robkarrob? He is selfless and has probably has done more through posts, replies and videos on this site than 99% of the people here (handejector and moderators excluded). He is extremely knowledgeable and helps anyone or points them in the right direction to get it fixed more so than anyone I've seen on here since I became a member of this forum.

Yet he is being attacked because he has the right to purchase ammo and resell for a profit? Ridiculous. Grow up. Now people on this thread want to "donate" to this site to make them feel like they are "better" than someone who makes a profit on a desired product. Get over it. I gladly provided you the link. Please donate and help keep this site going so great members like robkarrob can continue to help other gun owners who seek assistance.

Thanks for everything you have done for all the members of this site robkarrob.

I'm not donating to think I am better than anyone, I'm donating because I can.

Don't you think that by buying the all the ammo, he is inherently continuing the shortage, and keeping the demand up? I'm glad that he's helping the community and people are buying it, but if he would keep the shelves stocked and buy what he only he needs, he can leave the rest for others in line after him. The only difference between the 8AM Joe and the 8PM John, is that Joe had free time to go grab all the ammo while John had to wait to get off of work later, and now he's stumped at where all the ammo went. Sure he's helping the people that can AFFORD to spend that money, but what about the rest of us that would rather spend the normal? The cause and affect of Joe's action helped a fellow, but also affected another local buyer the same time. It's not selfless if there is a gain to the motive. He's not selfless, he's just trying to help.

The pic I posted Is the way it looked after I bought 3 boxes. The limit for walmart. My wife was with me and I could have bought 3 more. But I did not. I left it for the next guy who needed some. But hey, if a guy wants to make a profit on buying up the ammo and leave none for the next guy, then so be it. I'M NOT THAT GUY.

Oh, goody! Just what we need....

Another hoarder / gouger / free-market / shortage / taking advantage / pissing-match thread.

To think, the OP started the thread about improving ammo availability.

I just got 3 boxes (limit) of 50 rnds Tulammo .223 (Made in Italy) brass @$16.99/box from my local Wally world. Still no luck on 9mm and 22LR for the past 2 weeks.
