Anyone using a Simply rugged Sourdough pancake with the Chesty puller harness. I'm thinking it would be about perfect for carrying a 629 mountain gun on an upcoming Alaska trip. Carry it under a light rain jacket for concealment

I have two of the pancakes, one for a 66 2 1/2” and one for a Lew Horton 624 3”. Neither of them the Chesty Puller type so can’t speak to that model but very pleased with the ones I have.
They make a great product at a great price.

A Simply Rugged pancake holster came with my recently acquired 629-3 5". I bought the chesty puller suspension for it.

I haven't been out in the woods with it yet, but trying it out around the house, it's comfortable and supports it well.

You might want to also check out Diamond D leather. You could order ahead and save on shipping by stopping into their shop when you get to AK. I bought one of their "guides choice" rigs for a 2.75" Redhawk, but with the open end I can also use it with my 4" and 5.5". The 7.5" works too, but sort of sticks out there just a bit farther than is comfortable.

I have the CP carry system with 3 SDP holsters along with the adapter piece to attach most any OWB holster to the carry rig. One SD holster is for the 4" X frame while the other 2 is for the Governor and 4" N frame, which all carry very well.

Guide's Choice

Guide's Choice is the nicest of the two, I have one for a S&W Model 586, very high quality product with superb finishing.
