I am considering a gun I spotted on the Simpsons website. Has anyone had any recent experience with them? Feel free to PM. Thx.

It's been a few years since I've been in their store, but they have a large selection of excellent guns. A well run store with years of fine reputation and their prices seemed to be in line and reasonable.

I'll bet ol' Homer doesn't recognize that he's looking at a two-piece barrel - probably has the lock, too! I saw that episode, and if I remember correctly, that's one of those rare 20-shot revolvers I used to see in old Westerns.

My experience with Simpson's LTD via the internet was entirely positive.

"But I wanna shoot something NOWWWWW! Stupid 10 day waiting period."

Never knew Homer was cross dominant... ;)

I've only made purchases from the their store so I can't speak about their online transactions. All of my deals were great though.

I have purchased several antiques from them without problems. Shipping was quick and reasonably priced and the guns were as described. What's not to like?

known bob simpson for most of my adult life. now 63 yrs., they are a quality operation in all respects. if you ever get to Galesburg, stop for an hour of five. they have anywhere between 6000-10000 guns at any time, in all price ranges and types. the luger room 3 weeks ago had around 500 in it.

I also have known both Robert and Dave Simpson for many years and have bought a fair number of guns from them and have always been well satisfied on all accounts. They know the product and always offer good values in both buying from them and selling to them. As always all my best, Joe.

The prettiest Mauser in my safe and the most accurate one both came from Simpson's. I feel the price I paid was very reasonable. I deal with the same lady it seems everytime and she is quite friendly and has quick answers for my questions. Their pictures on their website could be a little better that's why I call. Me, I'd give them an A.

On a bad note a good buddy of mine, a bigtime Swedish Mauser collector, drove there a few weeks ago all the way from Davenport, Iowa with his wife. This guy carries large sums of money when in the buying mood. He told me and a few thousand other collectors at Gun Boards that he was treated rather bad and wasn't allowed to go in the back. Said he walked out so mad he swore he'd never buy anything from them, ever. Maybe you should call them before making the journey. Their website sounds like they welcome you to come look at everything they have.

Thanks for all the responses, including the cartoon ones--low hanging fruit sure, but funny anyway.

Yo folks! How about the full name/location of the gun shop...or a link if that is permitted. I'd like to see their online offerings

The gent with the name of Sip who looks like Dino Crocetti (SP?) kinda is a bad influence on young pups like me. :D

simpsons

Have which purchased numerous antique items and also a pristine model. 19 which was exactly as stated all online. The store is better than going to Rock Island Armory museum which is about 50 miles away. Wonderful people to work with
