Since the world is coming to an end.....

End of the world? No just thinning the population. That's what I believe. I'm not buying any guns or ammo I'll wait for the sell off when this is over. There will be plenty of new guns in the used gun case to pick from. Wait till then.

My last gun was a collectible Sig Sauer W German P220 in 38 Super but before that in Dec and Jan I bought several large caliber revolvers. The last from a forum member... a 629-4 3" with unfluted cylinder.

The past 2 weeks I have sold several guns and ammo that were in excess of what anyone could possibly need in a crisis. I didn't jack up the prices, they just sold quickly. Now is the time to sell not to buy

Nice Model 69, mod34. I have a 4.25" and love it.

I guess my End Of The World Panic Buy Gun is a 3" Model 65. I won it on Gunbroker a week ago, and I guess I did stick my neck out a little. I've wanted another since my last one "disappeared" a little over two years ago.

A change in the way we live our lives is coming and the way we do business too. It's not the end but a new beginning, a new dawn, we're getting a wake up call. Don't take life for granted.

If you find a .327 now, I would go ahead and buy it! That $1,000 is going to end up being $800 at best then you'll buy SPAM and toilet paper with it. Grab the .327, give it a kiss and sleep the best sleep!

I think he meant to M327, not a .327 caliber.

Here's my Clockwork Orange.
Back in 2013 when the end was in sight ,
Duracoated a Saiga 12 with cherry blossoms.
I know, I know, too bad there's no thumb down button :D

Since the world is clearly coming to an end, I thought I better grab a Model 69 .44 Combat Magnum and toss some gorgeous, elegant Pat Grashorn grips on 'er. Go ahead and toss us your, "World coming to an end.." revolvers:)
Go ahead and, "Like" away.

Somethin' about a round butt revolver just gets my blood to pumpin'. Wow. And a 44 ta' boot.:)

Yes, the M69 cyl is long enough to handle the Keith bullet in Magnum brass crimped in the crimp grove -- it is real close to the face of the cyl, so make sure you have good neck tension and a strong crimp to prevent bullet movement.

For anyone that might be interested, here are some measurements comparing the M69 to a M629 Mtn Gun:

629 Mtn Gun weighs 39 oz
M69 L Frame weighs 37 oz

629 Mtn Gun Cylinder Diameter: 1.70"
M69 L Frame Cylinder Diameter: 1.56"

629 Mtn Gun Cylinder Length: 1.705"
M69 L Frame Cylinder Length: 1.670"

(Note: The M69 cylinder is 1.670 inches and isn't recessed for cartridge rims -- a 1.712" hand load fits, but is right at the face of the cylinder. Lymans No 49 edition shows OAL w their 425421 Keith Bullet is 1.710". A .429 minus plug gauge will enter all throats a .430 plug will not.)

629 Mtn Gun Frame Window - Height: 1.735"
M69 L Frame - Frame Window Height: 1.600"

629 Mtn Gun Frame Window – Width: 1.880"
M69 L Frame - Frame Window Width: 1.820"

629 Mtn Gun Cylinder Wall at Narrowest Point: .095" -- (.0900" between chambers)
M69 L Frame Cylinder Wall at Narrowest Point: .060 " -- ( .130 " between chambers)
(629 Cyl Bolt Cuts are over the chamber while M69 bolt cuts are between chambers)

629 Mtn Gun Frame Top Strap – Width: .665"
M69 L Frame - Frame Top Strap Width: .665"

629 Mtn Gun Frame Top Strap – Height: .220" to top of frame (includes sight mortiss)
M69 L Frame - Frame Top Strap Height: .210" to top of frame (includes sight mortiss)

629 Mtn Gun Barrel Shank OD: .630"
M69 L Frame - Barrel Shank OD: .620"

629 Mtn Gun Frame Over Barrel OD: .900"
M69 L Frame - Frame Over Barrel OD: .880"

629 Mtn Gun Trigger Reach: 3.10" (same grips for both 629 & M69)
M69 L Frame - Trigger Reach: 3.00 "

Brian Pearce -- Bolt notches weakest point - M69 thicker than M629 at this location

The world is coming to an end so i would love to shoots some full autos. pick up a few Old Colts.

Lots of basement gunsmiths lighten the trigger pull on an S&W by cutting coils off the rebound spring and loosening and/or shortening the mainspring strain screw.

So first thing I'd do is make sure the strain screw is fully tightened. If it is and you still get lights hits it was probably shortened. The fix for that is a new strain screw.

The rebound spring is also an easy fix, just a straight replacement, i.e. out with the old and in with the new.

Like I said this is very common in old S&Ws. When you've been buying used revolvers for a while you can feel when the rebound spring's been cut and the strain screw's backed out.

In fact I have an old K frame that I opened to clean and found a once shortened strain screw repaired with a piece of Swiss file sitting between it and the mainspring which restored it's missing length.

It was a perfect solution, while a plain piece of steel would slip the grip provided by the file's surface kept it firmly in place.

Yeah, me too, just before the craziness. I put Diamond Pros on it though so I can shoot low level magnums in it. Full, 240 grain magnums are a little too healthy for an old guy.

When I get my .gov "cheese" ( well, Reagan gave cheese, milk powder, peanut butter and honey as I remember) only gun I'm lusting after is the Ruger LCP .22 lr. Don't know why but I need one. Joe

For an end of the world gun. I think I would splurge and get a Korth.

If the world is coming to an end, I'd be happy i snag this one and enjoyed my range time with it.
