It is said that "Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery" What do you think?

Here's a pair from the same era. The Smith is 2nd Model Single Shot shipped in 1910. The other is a Hopkins & Allen Arms Co. "New Model Target" made about the same time. H&A Arms were in existence form 1902 until 1915-17. This example is the first one I have ever seen and I've been messing around with guns for over 50 years. I can't find much info on it other than they were made with 6, 8 and 10 inch barrels. (Sound familiar?)
The latch is based on the H&A Safety Police Revolver and was considered superior to the S&W at the time. When I first saw it I thought it was a Smith that someone had really screwed up with a rebarrel, etc. Closer examination showed otherwise. The grips on the H&A are interesting in that they have a slight "palm swell" ala S&W Cokes. They're quite comfortable to hold.
If anybody has any decent pictures of one of these, especially of the rear sight, I would be forever grateful to see them. (the windage portion of the rear sight is missing and I would like an idea of what to look for or fabricate.)

Dean, Very nice photo set-up along with the background on your "new" H&A. It was a pleasure meeting you last week. I hope our paths cross again. Regards, Jerry
