My wife and I are trying to find her a nice single stack 9mm compact for her to carry. After trying Keltec, Taurus, Walther, etc etc etc. She fell in love with the CS9. Now, I'd love to get her one, but I'd end up keeping it. So, what other models are similair to my 6906 but in a single stack? I've seen the 3913,CS9,etc but I'd like to keep an eye out and search for all of the models S&W makes.

Thanks

Have you had your lovely lady try out the Model 3919 Lady Smith? It's slightly different from the standard 3913, and designed for the ladies. And I don't think she would have to worry about you keeping her gun with the "Lady Smith" enscription prominently displayed on the gun. -Ed.

I'm not so sure about that, I'm in love with a 60LS:o, but good option.

The 39XX series are the single stack versions of the 69XX series. It includes the 3913 (stainless), 3914 (blued), 3953 (DAO stainless), and the "budget" versions - the blued 908 and stainless 908s.

You should also take a look at the Kahr single stack 9mms, like the P9, CW9, K9, MK9, and PM9.

The P, K, and CW are about the same size as the 3913, and the MK and PM are just a bit smaller than the CS series. All models are DAO, though, so no decocker or safety.

Hands-down pick would be the 9mm 3913 Ladysmith. No longer made, but you can find them occasionally at gun shows and internet auctions. Totally reliable, light, compact, and very accurate. Some experts call this the best semiauto pistol Smith ever made. I have the 3913NL (below), which is the same thing without the Ladysmith logo, and it's a great carry piece. If you find one with the logo, you won't be tempted to "appropriate it" for your own use!

I agree with PALADIN had one a few years back when our dept went to sigs and were only allowed to carry sigs. Boy wish I had it back.

"Single Stack 9mm for Wife"

Send pics of wife and I'll see what I've got in the way of single stacks I'd be willing to trade for her...

Oh wait, did you mean you want to buy her a single stack?

Never mind ;)

Tell you what, I'll give you 2 single stacks and a years supply of range ammo WITH my wife. All sales final. :-)

The H&K P7 is a nice pistol but pricey and no longer made. I'm a huge SIG fan and the P225 single stack in 9mm is just sweet but also no longer made.
My agency purchased some single stack DAO S&W pistols (3916?) several years ago and they were every bit as good a carry piece as the H&K or SIG.
It would be worth looking around for a good 39xx series pistol if you wife wants something to fit her hand.

I just picked up a s&w model 908 single stack 9mm.
Dependable, lightweight and easy to conceal.I believe it weighs in at 24 oz.I love it, easy to handle, nice recoil, not abusive at all.Gunbroker.com,look on that website, alot of guns.

If you sway away from smith's try the Khar line. I bought my wife a Kahr K9 well made sturdy American made gun. The K9 is all stainless but they also make polymer ones also. Just a suggestion.

I would look at the 3904 in a "full sized" single stack. I have shot a few, and they are awesome.
Smaller is the 3913 or 3914. Even the 908 if you're on a budget. I found a used 3904 for $375 last year, and the only reason I don't have it now is that I traded it for a 4566.

C'mon. You said she fell in love with the CS9...Get her one and just try to control yourself. She'll have a nice carry gun and she might just let you shoot it once in a while.

My wife is not against guns and shooting - just not "into" it. If she told me she liked a particular model and would like to have it, she'd have it fast!

I think a 3953 would be the most simple to operate, accurate and reliable of most any single stack auto.

Although my wife was a big fan of the Taurus PT-908 I bought her when she to her permit class.

+1 tgardner!

S+W DAO's are really under-rated. I really like mine for carry.

Does anyone carry their 3913 with the safety on anyway?
