Great work! It's not easy, as anyone who has fought their weight knows.
At my last annual, my doctor told me that my A1C, weight, and BP were all creeping up. All were still "okay", but that it would help to lose a few pounds. I've tried that before and made what I thought were drastic life style changes over the past few years, but to no avail.
Fortunately for me, my doctor was aware of a weight loss study that Harvard was doing and referred my name to them. They interviewed me and decided that I met the requirements. I'll not bore you with the details, other than to say that it involves calorie, fat, and exercise tracking, along with weighting myself daily. They even gave a nifty new scale.
I started the program on 4/11/2017 at 227 pounds with a goal to lose 10% body weight. Which meant that my target was 204 or so. On my own, I was also tracking my BP.
As of this morning, my weight was 201.2 pounds. My BP now generally runs around 115/73. I usually do either a 15 mile bike ride or a hour a day on my rowing machine.
An added benefit is that I don't have a lot of the aches and pains I had.
I don't know how anyone else did it, but in my case, eating less, eating healthier, and exercising more was the key.
