A little back I had a conversation with one of the guys at Skunkwirkz asking about the speedloader they were working on for the 15-22. I thought the concept sounded good, and the next thing I know, a discrete brown box shows up on my doorstep(God bless the UPS guys!)!

If you own a 15-22, then you know its no secret that its takes a bit of time to load the 25 round magazine. When I go punch holes in targets, I have four that I take to the range and its a bit cumbersome to sit and load all 4 in a row. Well, it WAS annoying...
When the nondescript brown box showed up with the beta version of the speedloader in it, I spent a little while looking it over. The mag feeding adapter was molded perfectly and fit like a glove. The "feed channel" (as I call it) was similarly done.
After a quick email and a link to a video, I saw how it worked and gave it a shot. The first time or two I was nothing short of comical. I made a mess, rounds everywhere! If I had listened to the video that says " you may need to tweak a spot or two" and done exactly that.. I wouldn't have made that mess. The YouTube video shows them doing it in 44 seconds. You can actually do it in less than that but they show it good, non hurried normal day at the range speed.

To put this simply, it WORKS. You can now load four or five magazines in the time it took to load one essentially. I'm sure we can al agree we have spent $40 much less wisely as well.
This loader is the KISS principle. Keep It Simple Stupid!

Next time you see me shooting .22 at the range, ask to see it, good chance it will be with me!

Hopefully the they have success with the Ruger Mark Series pistols and the 597 rifle mags too!

sounds like there is yet another happy customer...using this is amost as much fun as punching holes in paper...

do the bullets stagger correctly automatically? people that complain about their guns miss feeding do not load their magazines correctly.

Why even bother with the "Bullet Alignment Tray"? Just fill the feed tube and go... it seems like filling the tray, just to fill the tube is sort of redundant. You could drop the rounds in the tube just as easily as dropping them in the alignment tray and save a step, loading even that much quicker.

Unless they created the alignment tray to truly idiot proof it so that someone can't forget which way they are supposed to load the rounds into the tube and they load one backwards (resolved by a simple engraved arrow and "INSERT ROUND NOSE DOWN" on the tip of the tube).

I would also think you could get a piece of aluminum tubing that is a little larger than the diameter of the round and create the same thing with a single piece of tubing (probably where they got the idea came from initially). Just measure the length of 10, 25 or 35 rounds placed head to toe and cut your tube (maybe even put a little rubber gromit on the end to give it some grip when sitting on the magazine), hold it on the tip of the magazine and pull down on the loader assist. The beauty of this is you could get some rubber stoppers on each end of the tube and store a large number of tubes pre-loaded in a bag, then pull them out as needed to do speed reloads.

Ingenious... cudos to the inventor!!!

Here's another video of it in use...

I created an example of my vision of a more portable range friendly version (see attached image). You would just grip it with your hand instead of it sliding over the magazine... though I think you could do that with the existing version. Maybe even just offer cap-able tubes to pre-load set numbers of rounds!! That way you could just line up the tubes and they would fall right in... maybe a coupler... maybe make the OEM model capable of removing the tube and capping it. Something just a little more portable. The alignment tray may be great for home... but if you could load the tubes at home and just bring them to the range (after you load your magazines fully at home of course!).

Also I look at it more of a convenience... I've never been in a situation where I've exhausted hundreds of rounds and needed to speed load the magazines to blow hundreds more. So something easy to take to the range to assist in load times between magazines would be great!

Now that I think about it... the OEM version would be great if it just came with about 10 tubes (or you could order them) of varying sizes that could be removed pre-loaded at home and capped...then taken to the range with just the magazine block for faster loading.

Then you would only need the alignment tray at home. Technically.

Just ordered mine. :)

thanks for the order,,
just to let you know i included a prototype design tube in your order along with the original tube design,,
we needed to shrink the package size, and in order to fit the 13" tube in a 8" package we come up with this design,, please post what you think of it!

its a two part tube cut in half and swedged like how a fishing rod goes together..

I would not exactly call it a speed loader. It is not a lot faster than by hand if you are good. But it does look more convenient. I can load a 25 by hand in about 30 seconds out of the box using a load 2 sequence. 2 at a time is about the limit by hand and still get them to stagger properly. I also have one of the previous loaders developed by a member here and while it does work it often loses steam when it gets about 20 in the mag, and it doesn't like the 32s and 35s at all. I have been thinking about redesigning that one to use a crank instead of a lever.

It's speedy enough for me. Especially when I'm loading up 8 mags at once. Usually get one mag fully loaded in about 15 seconds (filling the tray, the tube, full stagger). 2 minutes loading 8 mags vs. 4 minutes (if you're good) loading 8 mags by hand... I'll keep using my speedloader. ;)

i'm with Jyezahn here...it take a while to load 8 mags...i've never tried 2 rounds at a time, but it seems like more work than needed especially when there is the speedloader out there...

oh, and it does "wirk" with my 35 round mag except for the last 5 rounds or so...the assist rod gets in the way of the loader

That's pretty much what I suggested to Skunk when I first saw the design. Two piece design, first piece for preloading tubes, second one for loading mags from the tubes. The nice thing is that you could also use the preloaded tubes for other tube fed .22s as well. So I made my own...

what changed on the new version??? the original you sent me works pretty damn good, is the new version even easier to use on the M&P15-22?? :)
Oh, I'm in Md, right across the border, where in PA are you all?

Glad to hear you still like it!

we are most likely going to change the look from the square look, to the newer look like in the new video(the green looking one but in black), we are waiting to see how the other models work out first tho. all wirkz good in prototyping but who knows what issues production will bring? it still wirkz just the same, just a new look. we would like to make it look a little more appealing and over part production cost has a factor also.

we are located in Erie pa(aka "mistake on the lake")if you you talk to a teamster driver!
