Please explain the whole concept behind a slide fire SSAR-15. I have seen videos but nothing that explains the benefits of it.

The benefit of it is that you can use up a lot of ammo real quick. It's just a legal way to feel like you're shooting a full-auto gun. They're fun, but more of a gimmick.

If you plan on getting one make sure your range allows it

It looks cool for the first 30 seconds, but if you've ever shot a real FA you can tell the difference. It is a fun toy to have, and total newbs enjoy shooting it.

As for a need....I also don't NEED a 450hp car, but I have one.

As already Posted... There is No Need for it... No benefit to it... No rational reason for it, accuracy is not enhanced, You cant hit a quarter at 100yds with it, your wife will not say "That was a great Investment honey, great job"

The only rational reaso for it and benefit I see is....

FULLY RETARDED FUN:D

Do not try and justify the cost, ammo shot, or time invested into a Slide Fire Setup...

You do it because you can and its a BLAST to shoot.....

hope this Helps the OP

:)

Its just another option to play with on my 15-22.

Sometimes you just get bored shooting at targets one shot at a time.

So when you do pull out the slidefire and go through 500rds in less than 15mins.

This is my grouping at 17yds

I agree completely. The term need is VERY subjective. My truck doesn't NEED 480hp, but it sure does make it fun. Smokers always say they need a cigarette, drinkers need a drink, hippies need a haircut, and my 15-22 needs my slidefire. Stav always puts it best, and I couldn't agree more here. I do it because I can and I find it fun. I haven't had anyone that's used it not want to do it again. It's not for everybody, and that's fine with me, but the benefit of nonstop smiling keeps me at the range as much as possible.

I had one, shot it two or three times, enjoyed it, but realized quick that even though it was fun, it was not practical, and the money could be used for a nicer , more useful firearm
