I seem to be able to hit the slide release accidentally way to easy. I've noticed with the mag in its far from sitting flush with the frame and i'm pretty sure bumping it against something else even lightly is causing it.

Since its my carry piece i'm thinking of removing some of the material and was wondering if anyone has done something similiar.

Maybe just smoothing it out might be enough?

Sorry, my Sigma's mag release. :o

I've found the mag falling out a couple times after having it in the center console when exiting the truck. Picked it up out of the dirt once, luckily it bounced base plate first off my foot.
Holstered it once before leaving the house and noticed it was light. Mag still laying on the bed

Haven't had (or heard of) that problem with a Sigma before. Mine lock in tight, and it takes a conscious effort to release them. Are you sure you are fully seating your magazines? Try inserting with the slide locked back to and giving the base of the magazine a light smack with the heel of your hand. If that doesn't help the only thing I can think of is give S&W a call and explain the problem.

is it a factory mag? does it happen on all mags? what round mag?
I agree with marlin357, I've never heard of that happening on a sigma.

Yep, fully seat them and then I give it a light slap on the bottom to make sure its seated. I'm thinking about removing a 1/16th of an inch might fix the problem.

Does everyone else see the mag release button significantly extended when the mag is in vs mag out? If so how much extra do you think?

I think you'll get more accurate feedback if you edit the title of the thread from 'slide-release' to 'mag-release' also, before altering the gun, at least give S&W a call @ 800-331-0852

-edit- not to say you aren't getting good feedback. 'more' was my key word there
