Wait...... a Commander is/was a 4.25 barrel/slide........ a 915 is 4 inches and and a 3914 is 3.5 inches..................
I went the other way and have a 915 upper I can put on a 6904 lower.....as the butt is the harder part to conceal ...... and the longer barrel/slide helps stabilize the fat/heavy butt...........................2nd mag is a 17rd mecgar with a +2 adapter..... which turns it into a full size 915.

So if I am understanding things correctly here, I could, in theory, swap the slides on my 908 and 910? Creating both a short slide 910 and a long slide 908?

Since I was a bit bored I just tried it - swapped just fine.
Interestingly, I tried my 5903 slide on the 908 and it went fine, but neither the slide from the 908 nor the 910 would go onto the 5903; I'm guessing just enough design change from 2nd gen to 3rd? New slide goes on older, but older not on newer?
5903,908 and 910 are all 3rd gen guns..........................
Watch for old style vs. newer heavier "box rails" developed in the Performance Center....... mid-90s.....later incorporated into some/many/all production guns.

Ah. Thanks - I always have it in my head that the 3-digit value line (908, 910, 915, 410, 411) were 2nd gen, like a 469 or 439.
