Wondering if a complete 4006 slide will work properly on a 4046 pistol. I don't mind the DAO of the 4046, the trigger is good; but I wouldn't mind the option to make it SA/DA when the spirit moves me.

I'm going to say that if you do this swap, it's not going to look anywhere near right. The DAO slides are about 3/8" longer from the position of the rear sight to the back edge of the slide in order to partially conceal the hammer. The receiver is also lengthened in order to match the longer slide. Putting a TDA slide on a DAO receiver results in a serious mismatch between the rear of the slide and the rear of the receiver.
Pretty sure it would take changing the trigger, hammer and sear release lever to convert it to SA/DA with the 4006 upper.
As the previous post states, it may look odd at back end.

No the slides are too different. It wouldn't mechanically work.
The later TSW guns were engineered to make this sort of swap feasible. Well, not exactly what you are looking for, but, it would probably work.
