The SAR GetTogether is coming to the free state of Arizona.

I enjoy gun shows and the opportunity to see folks I haven't seen in a while. At the SAR show, it's like an old time reunion for me. There are FFL tables, and there are private sellers. There is also just walking around sellers with a sign on their bod.

There are characters at every turn and if you like interesting folks, this is your spot. It's a large show with specialties in military weapons and gear , like tanks and half-tracks; but there is lots of variety as well.

If you think guns shows are to save money; stay home and search online. If you think they're a great way to spend time with like minded loonies, then catch this show.

I'm a revolver guy inside and out. There are tables that I could spend days just hanging out. I never know what will whisper in my ear, "Take me home".

So my question for you is, "Are you coming, are you bringing revolvers, what's your table number?"

Who went last year? What did you buy?

Haters may just keep on truckin. We've heard it before.

I second your enthusiasm for this show, and I plan to attend, although it's been many, many years since I had a table.

Last year I bought a Winchester Model 60 single shot .22 rifle, the direct predecessor to to the ever-popular Win. 67. As a matter of fact, my current article in Dillon's Blue Press is an extensive look at the Model 67, and has photos of the Model 60 also.

Where in Az., please?

Tom,

That's a great idea. I often see location = Arizona on here, and wonder what the owner is like, besides being a shooter.

I often go with my brother in law, X Seal Team One; and my son, currently nominated for Sailor of the Year. I should say we walk in together and then meet up every few hours to discuss what we've seen, and what may interest the other. It's tough trying to cover the whole show.

I often go on Thursday, the set-up day and help someone move in. No crowds yet and dealers seem to enjoy trading.

Not knowing what day each of us is planning; I suggest we set a lunch time each day of 12:00 noon at the closest food booth to the entrance. I will bring a big sign for S&WForum.

What do you think? Let me know.
If you guys will post what day you plan to attend, that may help.
We can use this thread to coordinate as well. I'll try and check in at least weekly.

I have been thinking about bringing some trade items and this may help me get off my tail and make a list of what I'm looking for, and what I'm bringing. If we can't post the lists, maybe we can PM them? Once we see each other's lists, I may bring some different items.

Ideas?

I'm looking for :

357 Maximum, anything
32-20, S&W HE or Colt SAA
44 special, New Frontier
32H&R, S&W 16
327FedMag, recommendations?
45 Colt, SAA, USFA, Standard Manufacturing

any caliber, United Sporting Arms
scoped and silhouette revolvers
T/C barrels

This is a draft of my quick list. I'll edit over the next 6 weeks.
Much easier for me to make the want list than the sell list.

Hey Tom,
I will be there Friday and Saturday for certain. Sunday depends on how Fri and Sat went for me. I get tired these days a little quicker because of my cardiac events. Do you have either of the two lists you want to share?

Hey LEO918,
Great post. I've wanted to meet you for several years. I'll find you in the AG building. Yours is the kind of post I was hoping for; folks with a table. Do you have any problems being our center of the cyclone coordination point?

Next Friday is the first day of the Arizona SAR gun show in Phoenix at the Fairgrounds.

Several of us from the SWforum are going to meet at lunch to say hello and put a face to a name.
We have set the nearest food concession to the entrance at Noon as the schedule. I will have a SWForum sign. I am 5’9”, 150lbs, 70, with bald head, white hair, and white beard. Probably wearing an Indiana Jones hat. My Navy son and Seal Team One brother in law with me. Both expert shooters.
I will be there both Friday and Saturday, but I think the group may have to meet without me on Sunday.

We have a forum member LEO918 who has a table and you may be able to leave a message there in the Ag Building at Booth ????; west side with SW table cloth. Maybe buy I will try to post to the SWForum each morning as well in this thread. Check back.

My first topic will be “What have you seen that’s interesting?”
Followed by What are you looking for? Post your list here and some of us may be able to help.

My list: I have all the normal suspects, so looking for something different.
Silhouette revolvers with Long barrels and anything scoped
32-20, 32 H&Rmag, 327 Fed Mag
357 Maximum
United Sporting Arms Abilene, Silverado, and EL Dorado
Time Machine

1800.bucks to get in and 10 bucks for parking. seriously this concept is wrong in every way we have to pay in order to spend money.

Sorry to hear that. You were one of those folks I was interested in meeting. I do backcountry between Salome and the I10. Hovater rd. I think is what it's called. Interesting mines in that area.

How is Salome as home town?

I love Salome. My wife not so much. :-)
I live on Indian Hills Airpark. Hovater Rd becomes Harquahala Rd north of 10 runs past the Harquahala Mine and becomes paved at it comes to Salome. You've probably gone past my airpark. It's on Harquahala just before the Desert Palms RV Park. Next time you're in the area buzz me.
