Does anyone carry their 3913 in a SmartCarry? How is it?

I have a 3913 I've owned since about 1995, it was NIB then, I think I remember paying between $400 and $500 for it. I always loved shooting it but never carried it (never had a permit - long story).

Anyway I'm about to finally get a CPL (Michigan) and need some kind of carry holster. Looking for DEEP concealment, even if at the expense of a few seconds to get to the thing.

Suggestions would be appreciated!!

I did not like it at all with my 3913. It interfered with my "private parts", was uncomfortable when walking and sitting, and frankly the gun was not very secure.

There are many other IWB holsters to consider.

I use a SmartCarry about two days each week. I carry a 640 J frame and it conceals reasonably well and it is comfortable to carry. I have found larger or heavier guns to not be comfortable especially when seated. Concealment is very dependent on body shape and what you wear.

When I carry the 3913 i use a Nemisis (Desantis) pocket holster. I have big pockets.

QuickSabre,

When I carry my 3913, I only use the SmartCarry. Perhaps it is my build (about 6', 165#), but it is the most comfortable "holster" I use for deep cover.

Try the Kramer 'Confidante' "undershirt holster". From under a snap-front shirt, the draw is not at all slow (if you remove the velcro retaining strap) and the gun or guns are very hard to spot. The rig is designed for two guns, but I restitch the offside 'holster' to hold a pair of spare magazines. I used to carry a 3913 that way all the time, but found that a 5906 concealed just as well for me...

mwb,
I also tried the Confidant but wound up ditching it for the 5.11 holster shirt. The 5.11 shirt is far superior to the Kramer...give it try.

I agree - the Kramer is, in my opinion, over-priced and too slow.

Best of luck,

Dave
