I just acquired this S&W 10-7 with a 2" Barrel. It has matching grips, very tight lockup and no end play.
I have a question, Is this the round butt?
I tried installing the modern S&W round series grips but they won't fit. A Pachmayr square will fit.
Thanks for your help.
PS ---- I paid $300 which included a Bianchi Holster and 5 boxes of ammo. I should buy a lottery ticket

SUPER Deal !! I just paided 400.00 for a 10-7 in 4". Very nice pick up. Enjoy !!

Someone has modified that grip frame to partial round. Notice the front of the frame is still square configuration, while the rear has been rounded. You can also see the original stocks have been modified. Still not a bad price for a gun that's been modified. You'll have to stay with those stocks with a grip adapter or use grips intended for use with a square butt.

I like it! I picked up a 10-5, 2" round butt. Good shooting little Smith. You could give your gun the full R.B. treatment, or modify aftermarket stocks to fit. Bob

I talked to the original owner today. He did the modification to the backstrap and grips. It is an excellent job. I put a pair of Pachmayr grips on it and they work great. I think I still got a bargain!
