So added another S&W. I can't say "added to the safe" since neither is a safe queen --- both are working guns!

Wife and I went out shooting, she's been shopping for a CCW for some time. She didn't care much for the wheelguns, and between the Ruger LC9, SIG 938, and the Shield...guess which one was the winner? Value and performance are pretty hard to beat. I might end up with a .40 just for some variety, I carry a Kimber Solo or a Glock 34 these days. The 686+ is a HD gun.

Haven't even shot it yet, man it is a lot stiffer than the range gun which my wife could easily rack or work the slide release. I figure after 100-200 it should be a lot better, we'll see.

The kicker? I sold a RUGER to finance this buy...a Single Six I had laying around. Included some .22LR and sold it in a flash.

Only 2? You have some catching up to do ;)

The Shield is a fantastic gun and an even better carry gun. Most of them are real tight from the factory, so now worries there. Rack the slide a hundred or so times (after lubing of course) and get to the range a few more times, it will loosen up nicely.

Congrats, thanks for sharing some S&W love.

Yeah I come here to drool and beef up the wish list. I missed out on a 8-3/8" pre-27 a couple years back that I still kick myself over. There is a guy nearby who has a Lew Horton 3" 657 that's on "it'll be here when you want to buy it." Would love a 627 5" too. Have shot a .500 but with a distinct lack of big grizzlies in my backyard it would be an extravagance.

I had a 5906 but it was far from a collector gun, and was "just another big 9mm" that I had so (along with another gun) it got turned into an AR-15. I hand polished that gun and put Hogue tulipwood grips on it, it looked like something a Miami Vice villain might pack.
