Hey guys before I send off my 686 to get the M mod done I have a question. My Smith seems to have a little bit of endshake and cylinder wobble and since the previous owner was a gunsmith he did say he shot alot of Mags thru it but never did any work done to it. Do you think if I cook up a nice letter they could fix that under warranty or will I have to pay since it is wearable parts. Might be a stupid question but I have never sent anything back to SW

Hi. just send a letter with the revolver stating that you just purchased the revolver and that you want them to check it out from top to bottom. Tell them your concern and that you want it checked out. They will check the gun over do what ever upgrades it needs and with your permission fix what needs to be fixed and send it back to you. The L frame was designed to take the heavier diet of Magnum loads unlike the K frame. I personally would not be worried about a 586 or 686 just would worry about getting the gun checked out and modified for safety purposes.
