New guy from Clarksville TN, retired from the Army after 30 years as an Infantryman. As of now I'm learning a great deal about handguns, never played attention to them before as they always were my secondary weapon. Now, I concealed carry a .45 or a .40, if I'm lazy ill carry the .38 Bodyguard, nice little gun. For the folks out there I have a question. I recently bought the 500, never fired. Question is what ammo do I start with and is velocity vs grain weight make a difference?

Welcome to the forum from the Left Coast. Congrats on your 500 purchase. For economics sakes, I reload. I use Hornady 350gr. XTP in front of 21gr. Of long shot. Chrono'd @ 1250fps.
