610

Manny:

I found a 4" 610, unfluted cylinder, with an IL this past year.

I'd like to find a 3", unfluted, without the IL.

What do you have?

i have a 6.5 inch no dash from the first run and a 610-2 lew horton 3 inch

I believe this one started out life as a 3" unfluted one. Before I got it a prior owner had the cylinder fluted, a 4" barrel put on it, the front sight changed and a ball/detent lock up installed. It was used for IDPA using 40 S&W.

It is now my daily carry. I do have the 3" barrel around here somewhere if I ever decide to change it back.

Mine's a newer production 6 1/2" with IL. Absolutely love it. Changed the grips to Pachmeyer grippers as they fit my hand better. Added a fiber optic front sight as it has the quick change sight mount. Often use it for bowling pin shooting since the full moon clips make for fast reloads. Found that it shoots 40 S&W very accurately too, just prints a little lower than full power 10mm. My "pin load" is a 180 gr. Montana Gold FP over a heavy charge of Longshot. Cronos around 1350 FPS and the cases drop out of the cylinder. It is also a frequent carry gun in a Bianchi X15 shoulder rig under my ever present vest.
This one's a keeper.

What a beauty...

I have a no dash 6.5" that I love.

I'd like it more better if the barrel was 1.5" shorter.

i would like a 5 inch i really like the 610 i have 3 610s no dash 6.5 and two lew horton 3 inch

My 610 5" from first run. I am not sure it had ever been fired when I got it and the back of the frame had no ring from primer being fired. It has target trigger and hammer.

I have put 12 rounds down the tube, and they went were pointed. The gun has an excellent trigger, seems almost like a PC gun.

I like'um all I have 2 current model 4" pistols. I still have grief issues over the 6.5" model I traded for something stupid years ago.

Deckard

I have a couple of the 3 7/8" guns and have owned a couple of the 6 1/2"
ones as well but the shorter barrel works best for me.

I am new to this forum. I have become a 10mm fan. I have read several posts on the 610. I saw a post about someone who rebarreled there 610. I am interested in a 3 inch 610 and
see they are hard to find ie the lew horton. Can anyone give me any information and cost on rebarreling. Does the smith
custom shop do such a thing or just aftermarket gumsmiths.
Thanks for any information.

Most gun smith I guess could do it for up or even cut one down from 6.5" to 3" without much trouble if they have the tools and skills.

As for S&W doing it never have thought to ask about doing that, may have to call and see myself.

i like the 3 inch 610 iam sure u can get one cut down to 3 inch not sure if smith and wesson does it
