I have a Stainless model 610 (6" barrel) that is in excellent shape and I'm going to sell it; however, I did a search on this forum to see where I should price it and I couldn't find one listed. I was wondering if anyone could give an estimate. It does have the lock. It has the orignal box, lock and docs. (to include the corrosion resistant paper) all in new condition. (there's one on gunbroker with no Hillary hole that is listed for $1,400.00) Thank You for Your help!

I saw one NOS at a LGS a week ago for $875.00...seeing as it's no longer in production, I would price it at $500.00 if it includes the original box with all the papers, and is in like new condition. Do a Google search...I see prices in the $400's at a number of auctions.

Technically, they are 6 1/2 inch barrels, six inch barrels went on the K and L frame revolvers. I'm another who would suggest a price of 1000 dollars. I haven't seen a NOS 610 for sale in over 2 years and the only used ones I've seen for sale at under 1000 dollars where so well used that the cylinder needed replacing because stop notches were beat to H. Spend enough time trolling on gunbroker and you'll see pretty quickly that 1000 dollars is pretty much the starting position for any clean used 610 in excellent or better condition.

Are you kidding?

I never kid...Guns America had one for sale recently NIB for $799.00, and I now see it has been sold, but the ad is still up. A recent gun show here in Hampton Roads had one dealer selling three of them, two 6" and one 4", all NIB, and they were asking $950.00 for each, but would deal if necessary. Recent Armslist activity here in Virginia had one used, but LNIB with asking price of $700.00....so yes, I was not kidding.;)

Had I known these were so popular with some here, I would have bought the three new from the gun show and sold them for..............

Reagan era prices ^

I tried searching for a 610, never saw one under a grand except for that 3" that was recently posted for sale on this site for under $700, it sold in no time...getting one of those at 1/2 price was a stroke of luck for someone

I sold this one a couple years ago for $1050 (with box) and it lasted just a couple hours on the Forum Classifieds !
I still have original run 5" and 6.5" 610 10mm revolvers and they are the most accurate guns I own in any caliber!
I wish S&W had made the originals in 4" as well ! :)

Let me start by suggesting that you reconsider selling. As others have noted, the 610's are very accurate. I believe you will regret selling this gun. If however, you are determined to sell, I suggest starting at $1100 and settling for nothing less than $1000. I would be shocked if you didn't get $1000 within a day or two here in the classifieds. You could probably get a few bucks more on Gunbroker.

I was very fortunate to be able to buy a 6.5" no dash for $800 and a 5" no dash for $850 about a year ago. Both came with boxes. I felt extremely luck to be able to get them at such a low price, because even then, the average price was $1000. Depending on condition, accessories (box & papers), and the dash number, I believe the current market value to be between $1000 and $1500. I just saw a NIB/NOS 5' no dash listed for $1500, but can't remember where. Of course it may not have sold at $1500, but I'd be willing to bet that it did.

azcatdoc, check out the completed auctions on GB. I think that you will find that they are SELLING for more than double the suggested $500 price. In my area, a M610 in the condition you describe would sell for $950 to $1000 and would be gone quickly.

if anyone has nice ones for 500,i would like a dozen. various bbl lengths.

Well to hoist this thread back up onto the rails, I'll throw in my 2 cents worth on pricing 610s. Consistent with the current fad, all else being equal, shorter barrels sell for more than longer ones and pre locks sell for more than lockables. (Spell check says I just invented a word.:D) Leaving out the 3 7/8" barrels for a moment, IMO, the most valuable 610s are the 5" no-dash, followed by the 6 ½" no-dash, then 6 ½" with a dash number but still without a lock and last the lockable 6 ½". Since IDPA no longer allows 5" barrels, someone desperate for a 610 that meets IDPA rules might pay more than the price of a 5" no dash for one, but I sure as heck wouldn't.

Now, just because I haven't kicked a thread clear off the rails this week, I'll tell you how you can buy a used but unfired 6 ½" no-dash for $375 plus tax or a new 3 7/8" pre-lock for $495 plus tax. Do you read that comic where in a little boy and his dog sit in a big card board box on the front lawn and pretend it's a time machine? Just set your box out on the lawn, climb in with your dog, and set the dials to arrive at the LGS a few minutes before I bought them.;)

Just jumped on GB-only one listed-5 inch-1450.00, which is consistent to what I've seen for the past year or so. I've had my -2 for about a year-clean shooter-I was glad to get it for a G shipped. JFYI.

Note the $1450 price is on a no-dash 5". As onemanwolfpack implied, the only 610 likely to bring a higher price than a 5" is his 3". There were only 200 or 300 3" 610s. I forget which.

A quick study of completed auctions on GB had a 610-2 6" selling for $906. Several straight 610 where bid up over $950 and didn't meet the reserve.
I wouldn't let it go for less than $750.
Oh, and by the way, I paid over 400.00 for my 5" 610 NIB in 1991

Couple of Pics. of My Speciment

Hope these uploaded correctly?!
