You have a Model of 1953 New I-Frame, Regulation Police in .32 S&W Long caliber. The Regulation Police had a square butt frame. The round butt frame was called simply .32 Hand Ejector. Yours is from the 1954-1955 time frame. In 1957, S&W assigned "Model 31" to the Regulation Police model. The .32 Hand Ejector became the Model 30.

Your gun appears to be in wonderful condition. Any modern .32 S&W Long ammunition is safe to shoot in it. The .32 is lots of fun to shoot.

Be careful though. Once you take it out and shoot it, you my be hooked! The little 32s are addictive, and so far I haven't found a cure!
