I found a model 15-2 2 inch barrel .38 special, serial dates to 1965. It came with non-original grips, however I have a lead on the original set that came with the revolver and hope to put them back together. Interesting that the revolver has a serrated trigger. I have a set of K frame square butt magna that I was going to temporarily place on the revolver, however they seem to be too long from the grip frame pin to the medallion notch in the frame. I seem to recall the model 15 2" do have a slight difference in the frame than the 4". Is this the case and if I cannot acquire the original grips I would like to find a Smith and Wesson set of grips that would correct to the gun; square butt magna with diamond around screw. Would I need to find a set from a 2" model 15 or would a model 10 or similar work? Thanks

stocks

go on ebay you will find them there, a set of factory wood will be a bit pricey but you will find them, a set of k frame is what you are looking for.

The stocks on your 15-2 snub will swap with any other K frame except the Model 12 Airweight.

Snub 15 stocks would be diamond center with rounded bottom (aka PC Magnas),
The thing that makes the snub 15 frame different is that it doesnt "Step" down where the frame meets the barrel rib , this was done because the short barrels FS ramp meets the frame with no rib between, this is also why they used a long rear site leaf that goes right to the front of the frame.

Interestingly that long leaf was also used on the snub 19-2 when it was introduced as well as the later 66 snubs.

K square butt will work. Be patient if using ebay. Decent stocks & price will show up. Have bought at least a dozen sets there. I SURE like snub 15's! Saw 1 at a show yesterday. Was $625. It is probably still there. Enjoy your 15! Bob
