I can't see anything in the photo you mentioned, but it looks like a Spanish or Belgian copy.
 
I have a similar one from a Belgian maker. It's a pin fire revolver marked "River Jonhson Arms & Cycle Works". These guys were either too stupid to get it right or too smart to get it right. At least with the mistakes they could claim that no trademark infringement was intended if they ever got sued...

Actually, the misspelled stampings are pretty good marketing methods, considering the guns were mostly aimed at markets where buyers did not speak or read English and they could be fooled into thinking they were getting a real Smith & Wesson.
