Having said that, I doubt anyone thinks a steady diet of it in an airweight frame would think it's a good idea, IMO. I know I wouldn't.
No, S&W doesn't say that. There is a chart that comes with some models of guns in the owner's manual that shows the various models and ammo recommended for them.
Ah, but they DO say that. Any J-frame with a dash is +P rated, airweight or steel framed. Might have it on their web site too, I haven't looked in a long time.
Seems to me that a 4 inch barrel model 12 is neither fish or fowl. It's not a concealable carry gun nor a working duty gun. I believe that there are many better options.
