I just picked up a nice S&W mod 36 pinned barrel SN 4J70xx.
Can someone please me when it was made?
My Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson was not much help with the serial # and date.

SCSW 4th Edition, p 489, shows your serial in '71/'72. I'm guessing '71.
