Sometimes, I get inspired looking through gun broker. I definitely don't need any more revolvers, but for science, I have several questions. I thought that some of the members on this board might be very interested.

Is the model 38 steel or aluminum, and how does it shoot in comparison to a model 36? I have a model 36 2 inch that is an excellent shooter, but my 442 is a little snappy. I wonder where the 38 falls in comparison?

There's also some other interesting questions to be asked, like what's the quality of a Smith & Wesson 36 versus a Rossi 885, but I don't think I want to answer those questions.

A J-frame snubnose .38 is a J-frame snubnose .38 despite the variations. All are difficult for most people to shoot well. While there is some difference in recoil between the lightweight versions and the steel guns, it's not of great significance. Pick the one you like best, try as many ammos as possible and practice a lot to develop needed skill. A Rossi may be a good gun, but as viewed by most, a lesser gun. If you decide to sell or trade at some point, the S&W will hold value better and is considered a more desirable revolver by potential buyers.
